Crate and Barrel white china, circa 2005

Anonymous
Someone else on this board MUST have the same plain white everyday china set as I do. It's the "Anna" series from Crate and Barrel, discontinued in 2008 or so. C&B must have sold oh, a million of these, so I'm wondering where I might have success finding replacements. I am aware of replacements.com but not that interested in paying $59 for a used 6-10 yr old mass produced coffee mug!

Any ideas on where to look? Anyone aware of some super secret exchange for old C&B dishes? (Or, if you've grown tired of your very own Anna dinnerware, let me know!)

eBay?

Try Replacements Limited. They specialize in china but may also have everyday where. It's a company in NC. May be the only one in the country. But I have China from the 1940s and I have picked up additional pieces of it through them.

We got plain white china from C&B with the intention that if we break some, we'll got more of the current white pattern at C&B. Do you really need all 12 coffee mugs to be identical?

Sadly, yes. I really need all 12 mugs (more importantly, bowls) to be identical. I acknowledge this is a personality flaw, but I would otherwise spend the rest of my lifetime twitching about mismatched dishes at every meal. I admit this is pathetic.

OP here. Thanks, this made me laugh!

Can we agree to leave each other the remaining dishes in our respective wills?

It's a deal. Do you have any C&B Grand Hotel flatware you can throw into the deal? Several teaspoons have gone missing. And a knife.

Maybe ebay or Craig's List? I could sell you mine, and use the money to just buy new dishes. Or vice versa.

No can do, but we do have some multicolored nesting mixing bowls from the same era. One small chip in the red one but it could be viewed as adding charm.

But yeah, where so the teaspoons go? Are they with the missing socks?

PP - there is one very reasonably priced salad plate on EBay right now.

Not PP, but when my now-5-year-old first started eating his own yogurt, he would throw away the foil top of the yogurt, and put the cup and the spoon in the sink, cup to be rinsed and recycled, spoon to be rinsed and go to the dishwasher. I think he ended up throwing away a LOT of spoons from our 1997 C&B pattern that I don't even remember the name of now. It was disco'd at least five years ago and I stocked up, but I think I may have to get a whole new stainless set.

Hmm, if you'd seriously be willing to part with your Anna, I'd be interested! I don't have the mental capacity right now to commit to a new dinnerware pattern, and we've finally figured out how to arrange the dishwasher just so.
