I was searching for something on BoardDocs and I came across this link: http://www.boarddocs.com/vsba/fairfax/Board.nsf/files/9AUJJ74D5CFC/$file/N2401.FY14.pdf
It shows the timeline of when things will be mailed and who will mail them. Looks like January 14th is when test results and in-pool letters will be ready... |
| thank you! |

Thank you. This is wonderful.
God bless you and your family. |

Pleaes forgive me if I'm compeltely missing something here...I read the timeline to say they will mail out in-pool letters on Jan 14th and then appeals by parents are due Jan 15th? Am I reading this right?
Our school sent home a letter yesterday announcing an information session for parents of students in the 2nd grade pool and those interested in making a Level 4 referral. If they don't mail the letters until the 14th, we might not even receive them before this meeting so how would I know if my DC is in pool or not. |
| If you have a second grader, just read the timelines that specifically state 2nd graders. That appears to be appeals to those denied to AAP. Not being in the pool is not being denied. |
Just submit a parent referral anyway -- those are treated the same as in-pool students. |
The Jan. 15 appeal deadline is for those in grades 3-8 who applied to transfer into AAP for the second half of the school year and were denied in December 2013. These are kids who don't attend FCPS or came into FCPS after the deadline last year. As for your school's informational meeting, if you're interested in AAP, go to the meeting. It's usually very informative regardless of whether your child is in-pool or you parent-refer. The optional materials are the same either way and you can get some useful ideas from the AART about those. |
| Interesting. So scores are supposed to be sent out the 14th? I doubt they all go out then. I would assume they would send CogAt or whatever it is now first since those are the kids who most need to meet a deadline. NNAT is mostly 1st graders and there is no rush. I seem to recall some people posting that they didn't get the NNAT scores until February. |
| Thanks |
1/14 means at some time in January 2014, not 1/14/14. |
| Thanks. I couldn't find thus on the fcps website. |
