Your favorite ranch dressing

Anonymous
My three year old discovered ranch dressing at Grandma's this weekend. I loved Hidden Valley Ranch dressing as a kid,but I have to admit that as a grown up it tastes kind of "chemically" to me and not at all good like I remember. Do you have a ranch dressing you like, either store bought or homemade? If it gets DC to eat his veggies, I will happily give him dressing he likes.

I take whole milk PLAIN yogurt and mix it with the hidden valley powder. It is delicious. If I'm having tacos, I throw that in a blender along with some avocado and a squirt of lime and serve that instead of sour cream.

I like that you capitalized plain in case I might grab strawberry instead.

The house made ranch at Del Ray Pizzeria is to die for. Although I know that doesn't help OP.

I've seen this in my How to Cook Everything book, but haven't made it yet. Sounds really good though!

That does sound good! I wonder why both buttermilk powder and buttermilk? And can it be that simple?

I love restaurant ranch. They always seem to get it just right. Bottled is just not good!

You never know. My sister served Chicken Divan once and one of her guests asked for the recipe. Some time later my sister asked how it turned out, and the guest said - not great. My sister determined why - guest had used Cool Whip instead of whipping cream!

There has been an attempted coup in South Sudan and we are talking ranch dressing?

Wake up, America!

Yet you're on the internet policing content. There are children being victimized, and you're buying coffee? Corporations are poisoning us with carcinogens, and you're stopping to tie your shoe? A coronal mass ejection could happen at any time, wiping out the power grid, and you're not prepping?

Also, there's a whole Political Forum.
