I would like to make my cookie dough and keep it refrigerated while I am out of town for the weekend. I want to make the dough Friday and then be able to bake the cookie when I return monday night. The dough calls for refrigeration for an hour and I have actually kept it in the fridge for a day with no problems. I don't think the ingredients in the dough will go bad but I'm new to baking so I don't know if the fats will separate or anything like that. The recipe:
2 sticks of butter brown sugar white sugar vanilla flour choc chips I then shape the dough around a candy which i plan to do Monday night and bake. My husband does not think the cookies will freeze well so I can't make the cookies on Friday. I really don't want to deal with making the dough Monday night when I return. What do you think? |
I leave dough with a similar recipe in the refrig for up to two weeks. Works fine n
The dough will be fine. I"ve made similar cookies - with the candy - and frozen them, and that works fine too
Thanks!
Should be fine. Some cookie doughs are actually better after resting a couple of days because the flour and absorb more moisture and the flavor will be better.
You could also shape into balls (or whatever) and then freeze. You can then cook directly from the freezer, just add a couple of minutes (not many) to the cooking time.
