If you're paying $3k+ for BRAVE you should expect BRAVE selects players according to skill, understanding and physicality. NOT anything else.
Hopefully the same flaws don't carry over to FVU.

Unless they were not leaving on their own accord. Perhaps some were cut?

I know Mclean ECNL teams were not doing well, but with the addition of the better Mclean players to BRAVE, one would hope FVU would be better.

The above is only picking D1 coaches in a single sport where their son was a starter.

Explain how a coach whose experience consists primarily of coaching SYA White and has a D license is on par with his peers, much less Jim Boeheim, and you might have a reasonable argument.

OP was also talking about roster selection more than coaching. This is an issue with lots of BRAVE teams but could especially be an issue with a parent coach.

+1. Especially when there are “trapped” 06s from both BRAVE and Union who spent the past year playing u19, a team full of Union 07s and outside players to consider. Given the state and circumstances of Fairfax Union, they really owe it to the rest of the club and the 3 member clubs to put the highest caliber roster possible in place.

They will just cut the trapped players. It’s what they did last year.

Why would they cut the trapped players- they are older, presumably stronger physically and have 1 more year of ECNL experience having already played U-19 Trapped players could be a year older than the non trapped players…that is not insignificant…

I thought trapped player refers to 8th graders who are on a U15 team where everyone else is in 9th grade, so they miss out on part of their season due to the 9th graders playing HS soccer.

In this context, though, it seems to be referring to the players who are U19, but still in HS. So, for example, a 2006 who will be a senior for that season. Their team would be 2006/2007.

Yes, JA is in the organization, but has he ever actually been the head coach of one of their teams?

Maybe, maybe not. But he has always actually acted like an a**hole to kids and families. Whether he was head coach of his kids team or assistant.

Hearing that MYS is having trouble keeping travel coaches due to general bad feelings/lack of communication from the merger. Interesting to see what will happen...wonder if VYS and BRYC have the same issues?

Not only about communication but it was clear in their message by the fact that most teams are being led by non-MYS coaches. They feel their coaches are not good enough.

its not that they don't think the coaches are good enough, it's that the MYS reps on FVU are getting run over by the reps from VYS and BRYC.

MYS needs new management, they got walked all over by SYC and now walked all over by VYS and BRYC. Pattern is clear.

Age is why they can play twice. It's U19, not U18.
