Costco Quiche

Anonymous
We are hosting brunch for 15 people soon (DH's family) and my sister recommended we buy Costco quiche in lieu of making strata. If it's good, I'm all for the idea - but I know nothing about Costco quiches.

Are they good?

How many should we buy to feed 15 ppl? We will also serve bagels with lox/cream cheese; fruit salad; muffins; green salad.

Thanks.

Nancy quiche in Costco. Very good. 4 packets - at least. They are bite size, so expect at least 8 per person. People are not going to be eating much of the bagels. And the quiche will be the only hot/warm item.

Costco sandwich platters are also great for brunches.

OP here. Do they not have the full-size quiche? I don't want to serve appetizer-type quiches; I'd like quiche in a pie shell.

People will definitely eat the bagels. DH's family is Jewish and they do not usually have great bagels (we buy them at Goldberg's) and lox with sliced onion, cucumber, tomatoes - and whitefish salad. They will definitely eat that.

Costco sells very good fresh quiches in the open refrigerated section (not milk, eggs area). It comes in a 2 pack--one spinach and one artichoke maybe? Wish they had other favors too but I'd serve these to guests.

Thank you - this is exactly what I am looking for! Is it by the guacamole, hummous, etc.?

OP here. I've just returned from the Wheaton Costco where they had NO quiche. Deep, deep sigh. I was counting on that for tomorrow's brunch, so now I need a Plan B.

I think my options are strata or quiche. There will be 15 people total (adults and teens) and DH's family is Jewish, so anything involving pork, ham etc. is out.

Other menu items:

Bagels with cream cheese, lox, and sliced tomatoes, cucumbers and red onion
Kugel (don't know what kind, SIL is bringing)
Green salad
Sweets of some kind (other SIL is bringing)

Does anyone have recommendations for me for a quiche or strata recipe?

Thanks in advance.

Did you try whole foods? They have really good quiche and the crust tastes homemade. We love the mushroom/spinach one. They cost about $15/quiche. I personally don't like the texture of strata.

Pp here. If you do want to make strata it is super easy and smitten kitchen has a recipe with good reviews.

I am never happy with quiche when I make it myself, but I love it when I have it at other people's houses (either homemade or store bought). I think I probably skimp on the things that make it good (like cream). Anyway, I'd try Whole Foods and Wegman's, both of which I assume have quiche that is similar to Costco's. You could also call a place like La Madeleine and see if they sell their quiches whole.
