Last week I bought a cup of coffee from a coffee shop near my job. The barista said this one's on the house. I was happy but didn't too much of it. I wondered to myself if she were flirting. Today, she punched my bonus card for one purchase (after 10 punches you get a free cup).

Is she flirting or am I reading to much into this? I'm in my late forties, I would place her as no more than 28. So that does make me skeptical that she would be flirting with someone old enough to be her father.

I've known quite a few women into older men, sometimes much older. You'll never know unless you respond! Give her a complement on something she is wearing, or simply comment on how nice she is. What have you got to lose?

I have a hard time figuring out when someone is flirting with me. It's confusing.

Women laugh too much when they're flirting with someone. Some women are just more flirty as part of their personality.

OP here. This is the first time I ever received free coffee and I buy coffee 3-4 times a week. Over a couple of decades that adds up to a pretty big sample.
Maybe you are somewhat unusual in giving stuff away all the time?

Sometimes they get an order wrong and just give away the extra drink. You're a regular - maybe she's just showing you loyalty perks for frequenting the shop so often.

I'd proceed cautiously.
