I love when DH sleeps in the guest room

DH and I have a great marriage and get along swimmingly. But tonight he's sleeping in the guest room because he's sick, and I freaking love it.

It's not just that I get the bed to myself. It's more the getting-ready-for-bed routine that's so great. Normally I go to bed later than FH, so I have to tiptoe in in the dark. I really miss relaxing in bed before turning the lights out. Ahhh, heavenly.

My wife and I have slept in separate rooms going on 6 years now.

I love having the bed to myself too. I get up earlier and love it when he is away so that I can turn on the lights to get dressed.

Well, mine is currently sleeping in the guest room because he is in the doghouse, but before that it would wind up being me in there because his schedule is different from mine and he snores so damn loud.

I know quite a few couples who sleep separately who comment on how well they sleep! I'd be all for it, once we have a bedroom available.

And yes, these folks do still have sex. One just goes to his or her own bed afterwards.

I hear you OP. I am a light sleeper, so I sleep better when DH is away. I think it is an age thing. When I was younger I could not imagine not wanting to sleep right next to DH. But now that I am older and have trouble sleeping it just makes my days better if I can sleep. So when DH is not in the room I usually get a good night sleep. Then I am not cranky during the day!

and DH is cool with it cause he's sleeping with a younger, more energetic lover.
