So I went to my regular stylist. I usually get highlight, I told him the highlights were getting too blond, I wanted to go a little darker. So he said ok and I trust your work., which I've been seeing him for about 2 yrs and he hadn't failed me. Well, during the process he says, do you have a little extra time, I'm thinking of giving you an all over color. Not asking exactly what that meant; and again, going on the basis that I trust him, I said, yeah I have a little bit of time.
Well long story short, I come out of there with very very dark hair, like I've never had. He said that I could wash it that day or wait a day so the subtle highlights he put in could start to come out. I hate the color, and so does everyone who knows me, some have voiced their opinion others have said "it looks ok" I know my DH hates but the poor man, hasn't said anything. Only thing he said was well looks like I have a new wife. My question is do I expect him to fix it to something I like or try to get it fixed else where for probably another $100 +. I'm so upset because a couple of weeks ago, I got the Keratin treatment and it too was costly. Please advise what you would do? TIA |
| Do not go back, there are better ones out there. that happened to me once and I never returned, found a more reasonable stylist and am very happy. |
|
Personally, I would go back and see if he can fix it for free (don't know anything about hair coloring so not sure what the options are). You already told him you didn't like it, so just follow up.
Then, I wouldn't go back. |
| I would ask him to fix - you told him a little darker, nothing as dramatic as you described. |
| When highlights are getting too blonde, they are supposed to just throw in some lowlights. Never never never get rid of the blonde part. That is terrifying to women with blonde highlights. I mean, we get them for a reason. I speak as a person who needs her blonde highlights! This should be colorist 101 people! Go back and tell him you've got the (all over lowlights) and now please put some highlights in, heavy around the face. He shouldn't charge you, but do give him a tip. Then never go back. |
| For $270 I'd expect a private room and a happy ending. |
| For $270, a nice haircut and a happy ending. |
| For $270, whatever was done to my hair should last a year. |
Maybe I should start reading earlier postings. |
A year, geez, I'm lucky if I can last twenty minutes. Are we on the same page? |
| Was this at a well known salon? |
| Well he probably won't fix it for free but maybe take a % off? You'd have to tip him of course... |
| You're an idiot. Seriously, a fucking IDIOT. |
Why is she an idiot? IMO the only thing she did wrong was not asking for highlights then and there. |
|
Go back and ask them to fix it. They should do it for free. They may be able to do a toner, or add addl highlights.
My highlights/cut is $290 so the cost isn't outrageous but at that price you should be happy with it. |
