The Trump Women and their Fashion Mishaps - Part Three

Kimberly is giving me Tanya vibes (White Lotus) just much much worse. She is grotesque.

She should've looked at Dubai hijabi influencers for how to mix head cover and vogue fashion. This looks fine for Laura But sh or Mrs Obama but odd for Melania's own fashion standards.

She just isn't aging well and makes it worse with heavy make up, sexy clothing and badly done plastics.

Not sure if this has been posted - Ivanka in Costa Rica. Also, I didn’t realize she was friends with Gisele Bündchen.

This woman has no butt.

I truly think there’s some deep mental health issues going on with this woman.

Has anyone ever seen her in person? I'm curious as to what she.looks like in person. What does the heavy makeup and hair look like? Is it flattering? I realize I've never seen anyone in really heavy stage-type makeup up close. It must look obvious, right? Has anyone been in proximity to her or Lara Trump or others? How do they look?

My dad saw her at a restaurant once and said she looks ghoulish in-person lol.

Thank you. This is what I was wondering.

Melania also wore same or similar head cover when she went to meet alive pope. Ivanka wore bride style net veil. Neither looked good, even though both are good looking and fashionable as a sude product of having money.

Macron's wife didn't wear head covering, because religous head coverings are banned in France? That is my guess.

That type of mantilla is pretty common among very conservative, old school Catholics. I remember seeing adult women wearing that exact type of veil to church all the time when I was a kid.

Is that Melanie?! I've been saying for years that their faces are merging - she really looks like Donald in drag here.

I LOVE THIS FOR HER.

I am so glad other people are seeing this too! I’ve tried to point it out to friends but no one else ever sees it.

To me it makes sense that a raging narcissist would be drawn to someone who looks like him. Though she looked less like him in her younger years and more with age and facial procedures, so I’m not sure how that works.

I'm sorry but this is a terrible outfit - those shoes are so unflattering, the shirt is too tight and looks absurd with that flitty skirt. And her hair looks terrible.

Agreed. Next time can we request JD takes Ivanka with him? She knows how to dress the part! Usha could have borrowed her outfit from the Ambani wedding?!

At risk of sounding like a clueless white woman, I wonder why she didn't choose to wear more Indian outfits? When she stepped off the plane in Solani (Indian-British designer) I was hopeful she would lean into theme dressing for the week. Even in that pic, she's dressed like the world's most mediocre midlevel bank manager and the interviewer is in a sari, so a sari wouldn't have been inappropriate.

I'm Indian-American and I am right there with you!! And the crazy thing is that they've been dressing their children in Indian clothes. They are far better dressed than her. She doesn't even need to be in a sari, she could wear something like her daughter is wearing (except obviously a longer top).

I'm of the opinion that Vance would be really pissed if Usha upstaged him because of her clothing like Jackie K. did with Kennedy.
Little American wifey is exactly what he wants so no ethnic clothes for her.

I think she looks nice here, gd help us. But whoever said the daughter's outfit is better is correct.

The loafers are not good. Why not a pair of simple ballet flats?

If she had worn ballet flats, you would have mocked her for wearing them and insisted that white loafers would have been better.

White loafers would never be better. Not those, not on her.

The dress was nice and ballet flats would have easy and completed the picture. The white loafers are terrible.
It’s like the time she wear that terrible taupe sweater with the army green winter coats to Greenland. A simple black turtleneck would have been so much better

She had to wear taupe with the army green coat because they were doing military cosplay in Greenland, either to kiss up to the military base, or to frighten the poor Greenlanders. It was really obvious and really weird.
I like the blue dress a lot in the seated picture, but don't love it in the walking picture. I would like it more if the skirt was just one piece of fabric. It has that second skirt flounce that was really popular a year or two ago and which I think is really unflattering and I am beyond sick of. I like how the stripes angle in on the top though, that's very flattering. I think loafers with a dress is a weird choice. I have bad feet and need arch support, but they do sell ballet flats with arch support, or a nice walking sandal. Even little white or denim sneakers would be better. I wonder if when she packs, she lays out all the outfits together. It looks like she forgot to pack shoes to go with that dress.

I’m imagining the conniption fits this crowd would have had if she had actually worn “denim sneakers.” She looked polished, pretty, and appropriate as is.

She looked bland, boring, and those shoes are atrocious. She didn’t look BAD but she just looked like a regular 40 year old tourist with her kids. I would expect more from someone representing our country in the country of her family’s heritage. It doesn’t need to be Indian clothes at all but she should have expected millions of eyes on her during her visit and dressed accordingly. She absolutely doesn’t look polished, she looks average when she needs to look above average.

The PP nails it. Bland, boring, like an average tourist. She looks average when she needs to look above average. Like it or not her job now is to look good.

Laura Bush was bland and boring. Karen Pence too. Tipper Gore, Lynne Cheney. Boring and bland is the standard

They were all bland and boring but POLISHED. There is a different between looking boring in a beige Chanel suit and sensible haircut a la Laura Bush and boring with unbrushed hair, no makeup, and a wrinkled dress a la Usha.

They had short helmet head haircuts. Nothing to praise.

I actually think Usha could get away with being boring, badly dressed, and rumpled, if she had a personality to go with it. But the problem is that she seems to be trying, and just looking bad, and also seems to have no personality beyond grinning while traipsing about unwanted in Greenland or whatever. That giant stupid smile, and totally blank eyes, as she's enjoying her little tax funded holiday while looking like she has bedbugs is really pretty galling.

I thought Queen Mary of Denmark looked very chic and appropriate.

I feel Melania does take inspiration from how some of the Royal women dress but does usually seem to miss the mark.

If one goes back to Volume I of this thread, I believe there was extensive commentary on the first papal visit. As I recall, the Vatican has a specific protocol for papal visits and women are requested to wear black, long sleeves and a black head covering—not requiered but that is considered respectful protocol. As I recall, hope hicks caused some scandal by wearing short sleeves (but looking great in her stylish mantilla!). So in this context, I don’t think the mantilla reads “conservative Catholic” as much as “appropriate state protocol.”

It was also widely reported at the time of the last papal visit that Melania is Catholic. That was the first I had heard but is not uncommon for a Slovenian. That said, since practicing religion was basically banned in the Soviet Union, her father was a party member, and the Soviet Union didn’t fall until she was in her 20s, she almost certainly did not grow up practicing. I have never heard of her attending church except for her parents funeral or political events such as this. St Matt’s is just a couple blocks from the WH and I don’t think she ever stepped foot inside. And she did not pick a Catholic school for her son, even though there are many in the DC area.

Personally I think she’s done with the plastic surgery. I suspect her last prenup renegotiation took out all the physical requirements and she is just going to do what she is going to do at this point in her life. I don’t like her but I do respect that she has the steely eyed self interest of a soviet raised woman. Post menopausal Soviet women were the baddest B&txhes you might ever meet. IME, they took no sh&t.

Queen Letizia of Spain also looks chic and appropriate.
