How do you make your hot chocolate?

Hershey's & milk? Chocolate milk warmed up? With cocoa powder? Please share what you think tastes the best. Thanks!

Abuelita Mexican hot chocolate. Melt the chocolate tablet in milk. The best hot chocolate.

Love the Goya Sweet bar for hot chocolate...yum. I also make the recipe on the Hershey's Cocoa box.

Lately, I've been having Starbucks salted caramel hot chocolate with milk, but what I really crave is Swiss Miss, which is what I grew up drinking. I can't seem to up my game!

I open the pouch into some warm milk, and stir.

1. Big chunk of semisweet Caillebaut chocolate from Whole Foods. Real chocolate, not sugar disguised as cocoa powder.

2. Slowly warm and melt in small saucepan.

3. Slowly pour milk into saucepan while mixing in melted chocolate.

4. Miniature marshmallows are optional, the actual chocolate being so rich and creamy. Enjoy!

Per person:

1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 cup milk

Mix the cocoa powder and sugar together well. Add a little milk; mix until you have a smooth paste. Add a little more milk and mix some more. Continue to add milk slowly until you have a thin liquid. Heat until warm.

If I'm doing one serving, I do this in the mug in the microwave. For multiple people, on the stove. For little kids, warm with half the milk then add the rest of the milk and serve in a mug with a straw.

For big kids, add a swoosh of brandy.

Unsweetened cocoa powder, sugar, milk, vanilla, tiny pinch of salt. Stir in chocolate chips or a good grated chocolate if I have it. Mmmm....

I think they meant chi chi, but I'm lost on the poo poo part.

Mostly +1.

I add vanilla, never use the microwave. I like to ad Malibu Rum (so lowbrow, so good!) instead of brandy. I've also added cinnamon schnapps.

This is more or less what I do too. Sometimes drop in half a candycane into the cup before pouring cocoa over.

I really adore the fancy drinking chocolates that come in a tin from places like Williams Sonoma (and Target). I think it is really just shaved chocolate, sometimes with peppermint. But it melts really well in hot milk and is so much tastier than Hershey's syrup or Nestle Quik or even Hershey's cocoa. Adding Bailey's or peppermint schnapps definitely makes it a tasty adult treat.

But my fall back is Hershey's syrup, since we usually have that around.
