| It's DH's dad's name and he wants to honor him. We decided this would be the name definitely for a boy but then we just had our ultrasound and it's a girl! I'm thinking it may work and be fun. He's up for it just wanted to see if popular opinion would agree. Ellie for short or most of the time is what I'm thinking |
| Just name her Ellie. |
| No, no, no. |
| I really like it. Go for it if you like it and it has special meaning for you! |
|
Glad my parents didn't choose my name on the basis of whether it was "fun" or not.
|
| Why not name her Eleanor and call her Ellie? |
Fun for you maybe. Not for her. Don't do it. |
| I totally love it for a girl, especially given the meaning for your family. Go for it. |
| No. |
| Cute |
| Or, use it as a middle name, if you want to avoid any concerns about gender confusion? I have known Elliots, only males, so I would never think of the name belonging to a female. |
This. |
|
There was a female Elliot on that TV show "Scrubs." She was goofy, quirky, caught in her own weird junk; overall she was harmless but not someone I'd look up to.
I'd think you'd named your DD after her. The word Elliot looks a little bit like the word Idiot so I can imagine there might be some teasing when she gets older. |
|
It's a really ugly-sounding name. So I would not name ANY child that unless I hated them.
I say this having adored both E.T. and Scrubs. |
| We know an elementary aged girl Elliot so you wouldn't be alone. |
