Is there any reason to dislike Herschel Walker?

It really is. It would be one thing if they said they don’t like him but like his policies, or they’re not voting for him because of religion but because of how he will vote, and actually call out the bad stuff from the past. But they’re trying to tear down Warnock as being a bad Christian for supporting abortion and not forgiving and forgetting someone who commuted domestic violence and paid for abortions. I heard a guy saying Warnock’s bad deeds (whatever they were calling him out for that day) were absolutely as bad as Walker pulling a gun on his ex (I think because she forgave him, or maybe it’s because hypocrisy is the deadliest sin, or maybe both). It’s astonishing.

I listened to that interview in the car and it was vile. And of course NPR thinks neutrality means no hard questions, so he just blathered on without pushback.

The guy actually said that Walker had sought help and been cured of his violent tendencies after abusing his wife. And therefore we should vote for a reformed sinner instead of Warnock, who never did anything like this!

Reality is upside down and inside out with these monsters.

If Walker loses, his GOP “friends” will instantly evaporate.

I missed the forgiveness clauses in the red state abortion bans. Do these let you get out of jail?

And that’s exactly the f**king point. How dare these maga fascist throw a doctor in jail but find “forgiveness” for a brain damaged football player spreading his seed? Republican words, not mine.

The forgiveness clause- you may want to read the Gospels.

I'd love to see a Democrat introduce the Herschel Walker Abortion Prohibition Act. It would make any assistance to an abortion a felony, but if you go on TV and deny being involved you become a US Senator.

No wonder his son is so upset.

She’s the mother of one of the other kids he kept secret until recently, not the son of the mother he stalked and abused who’s upset. I know it’s hard to keep track.

I am aware it is not the same mother. I am thinking his son might be disgusted that his father aborted his step sibling. Maybe he thinks his father thought about aborting him as well. It had to be disturbing news.

What nonsense are you talking? He was upset because Herschel Walker, his father, is a domestic abuser and they had to move for their own safety. He tweeted that; you can read his own words. Real people, not imaginary people you use to control women’s lives. Herschel Walker is a domestic abuser and pretty much every Republican in Georgia will vote for him. Why? Because they’re a passel of amoral hooligans.

And let’s just review: Herschel tried to play the “I don’t know her” game with the woman whose abortion he paid for. But she has one of his secret kids.

I’m really struggling to figure out how so many Republicans faithfully attended Christian services and read their Bibles and still have no *ucking clue what Christian faith is.

Democrats are such elitists. They won’t even consider a Senate candidate who has a history of mental illness, threatening to murder his wife, fathering multiple children by different women outside of marriage, lying about his education, his business and his abortion payments, and promoting snake oil “cures” for covid.

They just want the guy who is stable and responsible and law abiding and has an education and doesn’t say crazy things.

I mean, how can Jesus even forgive you if you don't do a bunch of horrific shit to begin with?

Because the church leaders are corrupt. They are just grifters.

Here's the thing. Evangelicals don't actually care about abortion, or family values, or being faithful to your wife, or forgiveness, or Jesus, or morality. All of these are just excuses they can use to control, blame and criticize people and groups they don't like. A woman who has an abortion is an evil harlot who should go to jail, unless she is a nice Christian white lady, in which case she can be forgiven. A man who cheats on his wife is awful and should be shunned, unless he is a Republican politician, in which case he should be given well paid gigs on Fox News and the conservative speaking circuit. The key here is they don't really care about the abortion or the cheating, which is proven by how easily they brush those things off when done by the in-group. They just hate anyone not in their group and need reasons to justify that hate to themselves.

Yes, it’s right there in Corinthians. “God and Caesar shalt forgive thee if thou go on Hannity and deny thy sin.”

Is that One Corinthians or Two Corinthians?

That's One Corinthians. Two Corinthians says: "The Lord Trump shall make thee a US Senator if thou go on the Hugh Hewitt Show and deny thou paid for an abortion and also deny thou knoweth the mother of thy child."
