Comments above about vetting are relevant but we as fans have no rights to the transparency of hiring decisions.

Most major league coaches and execs sign non-disclosure agreements to not even speak about their interviews. Similarly teams agree not to speak about interviews.

There should be oversight by the league that fairness and consideration was given but the NWSL and every league does not owe us anything.

Can you people imagine if the company that turned you down told everyone why? Wow lawsuits galore. It is generally understood by educated sports fans that the hiring of an exec or coach represents the fit and best candidate the team is looking for —- again oversight must be given, transparency to the league to verify appropriate candidates are hired. Period.

Oh that will never happen…as long as the kid has a spot on the top team parents will over look abuse and call it character building.

The NWSL needs to go. The way to have a women’s league is through MLS. You do not have to duplicate facilities and a lot of staff. The money saved can be used to raise salaries.

The MLS has an average salary of 400k and 75% of the NWSL make under 31k. I just do not see the MLS getting involved. They are too afraid of a lawsuit. I wonder why WNBA players do not sue the NBA?

Litigation is the way to destroy everything. Weaponizing lawyers only serves lawyers.

What cause would the WNBA have to sue the NBA?

Spoken by an unenlightened man without daughters. I’m a man and guarantee this league belongs in the fabric of our sports world. It’s not the future it’s the here and now

Almost every NFL head coach has family in some sort of position.

You convinced me. Conflicts of interest and nepotism are great things. The Spirit investor should keep doing what he is doing. He is a saint.

The pay difference. Five WNBA teams have direct NBA counterparts and normally play in the same arena.

She’s a great player but not a leader. She gets too much attention and respect. Burn it all down? Yeah I heard her say that but she’s really saying “screw the young, aspiring female athletes and college players hoping to turn pro”

STFU Rapinoe, you’ve made your money. How about fixing it.

Well it’s what the USWNT players are suing about. So why would NWSL players not sue to be paid the same as the MLS players?

Gender based sports should be extinguished. All sports at all youth levels (pre-HS) should be based on a combo of weight and age. In HS, college, and pros top teams would be based on who’s the best. This would eliminate all the non-value added discussion on equal pay, transgender males playing in female leagues, etc. No, boy’s/men’s gymnastics or girl’s/women’s basketball, etc. Just one top team per sport per school or pro team/city. If a female is good enough to make the top team then they make it. Same (vice-versa) with sports geared to female body types. There can be B and C teams (or JV teams or minor league teams) with a mix of genders based on ability. Propping up a gender just because of their gender is neither natural nor fair. It’s about talent, ability, priority, and work ethic. Same as in the corporate world. Until this is done, these pointless arguments will persist.
