I need help “finishing” my house. Moved in three years ago and I’ve been too busy to really add some personality to it. We are upper middle class but not rich. Is there a reasonably priced designer who can just come in and help me add some color/personality and polish throughout? Prefer west coast style to mid Atlantic traditional

OP: odd request, but what’s the best Kohler toilet? It’s for a small dc rowhouse bathroom, so we prefer round to elongated

I had to come back because the best toilet, the only toilet, is a Toto. Drake is good but any Toto you like. I’m sorry, I know Kohler is American and they have a fancy resort and a magical toilet museum and whatever. -OP

Thanks OP. We considered Toto but contractor doesn’t like them for some reason.

I don't know what my style is but my favorite designer right now is Heidi Callier and I have a bunch of stuff from Schoolhouse Electric. Too much from there.

This one, right?

Idk if I'm leaning too glam:

I love those chairs. Any chance you can suggest some that are under $1000 that are similar? In blue or gold?

Not OP—but here’s a blue swivel chair that’s a little less than the other one. It’s hard to go under a grand and not see the huge difference in quality.

I'm looking for a pendant like this PB one, which says it is in stock, but which it is NOT in stock in reality. Any pendants similar to this out there?

We have light gray wood floors, dark gray or black sofa, and medium gray upholstered chairs. What color/pattern area rug? The wood flooring has a definite grain pattern, so the rug would be against that. Any other suggestions re tables, walls, etc? Thanks!

PP here- by "walls" I mean art/decorations for the walls, not wall color, which is white. Thanks!

The floor grain sounds like it’s too much so just don’t have a rug. That will also make it easy to clean up. -OP

We need a living room rug. We have traditional, ki d of old fashioned taste - think leather sofas and dark wood furniture. Want an 8x10 rug for around $300-400 that would match but isn’t too fussy. Maybe a cream base with reds, blacks, or a hint of green. Usually like Persian but open to other ideas.
