What is the wildest conspiracy theory you actually believe?

The claim that "we know vaccines are totally safe!" seems BS, because you can't claim the absence of things that have been studied. As in, if no one has ever studied whether, say, people who themselves had the MMR vaccine as kids are more likely to give birth to a kid with ASD or thyroid disease or whatever.... then it can't be ruled out.

DP. I think the vaccine-autism debate is a red herring. I suspect the real reason for the huge rise in autism and other developmental disorders is the widespread use of fertility treatments, often in situations that are high risk to start with (AMA, family history, etc). I don't think there's a conspiracy theory surrounding the issue, but I think there's a big push to avoid saying it.

Totally believe that. Proof is the ever-proliferating forums. On the other hand, this is a good business model, no?

Also, while Jeff deletes quite a few of my trolly postings (probably 85%), I believe he keeps 15% around for longer than necessary because it creates controversy and more traffic.

I am so not a conspiracy theorist, but I do believe scientists have found a cure for cancer and Big Pharma won’t share it because of the ridiculous amount of money they make off cancer drugs alone.

I think he’s the one bringing up random old threads. Like when someone suddenly decides they must comment on a thread about a family fight that was posted in 2016. I think it’s to keep slow boards moving and to push threads he doesn’t like off the first page.

Military technology is actually many years ahead of what we think.

The Vatican has vast stores of ancient and secret knowledge hoarded that it will never share.

Secret knowledge regarding church scandals, child rapists.

Actually, this is one reason we decided not to pursue fertility treatments when I couldn't get pregnant, something like undiagnosed high functioning autism (non diagnosed) runs in both families. I think there are a lot of factors causing increased autism, especially toxic chemicals in the food supply, but I don't thi k vaccines have that much to do with it.

"The Plan" is absolutely real--this city is unrecognizable to this 60 year old native.

The what??

"The Plan" is/was a codeword in many wards of DC about how yuppie whites would come in and push out long-time residents and take over the city. Basically gentrification and political usurping of the local DC political establishment.

LOL. This isn’t a secret. It is literal government planning, reinforced with policy decision, funding and business incentives, ratified with constitutional votes on state and federal elections.

“The Plan” = “Opportunity Zone”

Opportunity Zones - Home | opportunityzones.hud.gov
Search domain opportunityzones.hud.govhttps://opportunityzones.hud.gov

Opportunity Zones deliver fast-acting and long-lasting solutions by allowing current investments to qualify and structuring rewards to serve local communities for the long-term. Only investors who commit capital for five, seven, and ten years receive the tax law's formidable financial benefits.

This is why it is all a house of cards. You can’t keep stacking it against yourself. This is why we have to build an economic infrastructure for government back (so we dont risk crumbling) and do it better than before (so we position for future challenges, including environmental).

By the way - this gives another angle towards why the housing market and investor practices caused such devastation in the 08 crisis (pushed by trump loving Republicans and investors, tolerated from the same Clinton loving Dem investors!)

Census responses are legally required. You have to report your race and where you live every 10 years.

This is just stupid. The company that has the cure for cancer could literally name its price. Millions? Sure, people will find a way to pay or force their governments to pay. And plus when there is a cure for cancer, people will start slacking on preventative measures, develop more more cancer and increase the market for the cure. The market for cancer drugs would be worth pennies compared to this.

Flight 93 “heroes” nosediving the plane always sounded soooo ridiculously fake.

^^The problem with this scenario and cancer is that it is no respector of persons. What if the CEO of a big pharma company gets cancer? Will they dip into their secret stash of effective drugs to cure it? Will they die like any ordinary schmuck?

Agree.

That the government deliberately manufactured intelligence in order to destroy a foreign country that was not a threat to the United States. Oh wait...

I don't think anyone ever said the heroes nose dived the plane. I always thought they rushed the cockpit and the terrorists nose dived it.
