+1. Mercedes is a normal name in Spanish speaking countries. Like how the name "Ella" is normal now in the US, but it sounds dumb in Spanish because it means "she" in Spanish. |
like Nina means girl Colleen means girl Erin means Ireland (I'm an Erin and I was embarrassed by my name when I visited Ireland) |
YES!!! I had the biggest crush on him. |
question about Xavier. do you pronounce - Zaavier? or EX-avier? there is a child at school - and I call him like - Zavier. but others hard X. |
Princess is a pretty common name. |
| Archimedes |
Atticus is pretentious. |

Recently we were hiking and encountered a pair of parents scurrying behind their three young boys. The mom said to the dad somewhat dramatically, “Bob, they aren’t listening to us” so dad shouted to the kids “Hunter! Falcon! Apollo!”
I feel like you are asking for wild children with those names! |
I think it is Zay-vier, like zy-lo-phone. No one says "ex-y-lo-phone" or Ex-er-ox"; we say "Zy-lo-phone" (for xylophone) and Zer-ox (for Xerox). if it is spelled"x-ray". you say "ex-ray". But how people pronounce their own name is up to them! |
Gzavier like Xavier but without the first Eh sound |
|
Not pretentious but two people I tangentially know have named their babies Honey in the last 12 months. Awful name.
Blakesley is awfully pretentious and someone named their baby that. |
I’m dying especially because the dad was “Bob”! 🤣 |
This takes the cake! |
