Well, they do. Shocking as that may be to you. They have no problem dropping $12,000 for a guided tour for the day. Lots of them. And that doesn't even include the entry tickets.

I've never heard of the guided tour? What exactly does that entail?

Disney employee walks around with you and you get to go to the front of the lines of all the rides. They help plan out the things you are interested in and walk you the most direct path, etc. It’s a 7 hour minimum and starts at $900/hour and goes up from there based on date. Up to 10 people can be in your group. Tickets and food are not included.

You do know that COVID vaccines don’t prevent spread right? They just lessen the severity?

I get a new Covid vaccine every fall (well, we will see if they let me this year) but I still have gotten Covid a few times.

I should retire and be one of these VIP tour guides. I've been grabbed a few times at ride entrances by VIP tour families/DINKs and asked if I wanted to ride with them because they had extra space in their group. That noted, they didn't walk right on always. There was still some waiting in the lightning line, depending on the ride.

I'd never pay for this personally though, unless I had a full size group to split the cost and a short timeframe.

You obviously know nothing about the "truly wealthy". Wealthy people still have kids who hear about Disney from school and want to go because they are kids. If you asked my 5 year old if she wanted to go to Disney versus Tahiti, she would pick Disney. Minus the weird adults, most people are going to Disney for their kids.
Also, given the skyrocketing prices and the high end ways to do it (Grand Floridian, Four Seasons, VIP passes, etc) I don't know why you think it has a "low/middlebrow image". It also tends to be one of the many vacations that us wealthy take Also, when you are truly wealthy and can go anywhere, you really don't care about "what it looks like to other people".
I preach to my kids we are fortunate to go to Disney- along with Italy, Paris & the other places

Yep. You DGAF what people think when you have generational wealth. You just want to make your kids happy and make memories with them.

It’s the strivers and professional class nouveau riche who still care what people think.

Yeah, I have relatives in Florida but I would think twice now about going there with all that public health stupidity.

You know they just announced that no school age child in Florida will be required to present vaccinations. I don't want to be in the midst of a polio/measles/mumps epidemic while trying to ride Space Mountain. FAFO Florida.

We are fully vaccinated and not immunocompromised. You could run into someone with the measles literally anywhere.

Until recently, that wasn’t very likely as most people are vaccinated and so the disease is very rare. But if people don’t get vaccinated then these once rare diseases will not be any more, and then it’s hard to avoid. It may be fine if you’re all vaccinated and not immunocompromised but the immunocompromised part could change at any time, and if you have babies too young to be vaccinated they are at risk. It

I couldn't care less. I travel all around the world and never both to lookup the vaccine compliance policies of the local governments. Are you suggesting I should?

All these people crying about the vaccine change when the parks are filled with people from countries where the concept of a vaccine doesn’t even exist.

Huh? UK, Australia, most of Europe.. that is where most Disney visitors are from and they most certainly have vaccines. The way some Americans view the rest of the world is absolutely deranged.
