Do they still have the good goalie? |
Wait, didn't he get 3 of them on the state team on offense alone? |
yorktown has had scrimmages. they won the one they were supposed to. |
Thats an awfully dodgy response. Dont care to share some analysis on the other scrimmages? |
YT's first scrimmage was played while snowing on a snow-covered field; the game was cut very short (maybe one period of 20 minutes). PVI won 5-2 (or something close to that). I believe most top contributors were there. Coach played everyone with substantial field time. Second game was at Bishop O'Connell. YT won 9-4 (or something close to that) without a major portion of the team's top contributors. Again, coached played everyone with near equal field time. Not much to take from either scrimmage due to shortened/snow game and substantial number of missing players, which I assume is why the other poster didn't provide details. |
They weren’t great last year either. Didn’t beat any of the top teams. Region is weak! Both teams out of that region lost miserably in states. |
Wow, just looked it up. Woodson was 8-12 last year being outscored 128-180. Can't believe they made it to states while a solid team like Langley was left out. But that's how the system works. |
Yup same story for Freedom. Weak team in weak region, but got a pass to states. |
thats crazy since they were a ~.500 team, how'd he manage to do that? |
To get on the state team you have to be 1st Team District and 1st Team Regional, right? So, if a team comes from an easier district and region, then they can get a disproportionate number of players as first team all-Region. Then they will have a disproportionate chance at all-state. I think that's how it works. Obviously correct me if I'm wrong. |
| Whatever they lost or didn't lose, Woodson isn't good. Lightridge could've won that game by 25 if they wanted to. 10-1 after the 1st quarter and it wasn't that close |
Woodson coach will have them ready when it counts. |
