What’s the point of this post? To provide that one example of some crazy person murdering their husband and receiving fraudulent payments means we need to throw out the whole thing?

The point is Elon is NOT coming for social security. Audits WILL take place and proper payments will be restored. Fraud WILL be stopped. So stop with the hyperbole.

Social Security currently has over $2.7 trillion in assets but if you listen to Republicans they'd tell you it's broke and needs to end. Why are they telling you it's broke and needs to end? Because they want to steal it on behalf of their billionaire handlers.

Social Security leadership is now considering a proposal to end telephone service for claims processing and direct-deposit bank account transactions, instead directing elderly and disabled people to the internet and in-person field offices, according to one of the people and the records.

Our 95 year old neighbor doesn't have a computer. She doesn't even have a smart phone. She'd have to physically go to the SS office? This is just cruel.

They did this with our local DMV. Moved it from a bus line to the middle of no where on the edge of town. Made it harder for people to get IDs to vote without making it illegal.

They can't do this. Too many elderly don't use the internet and can't get to an office. Plus they're supposedly closing Social Security offices.

I just searched on their website and the closest field office is Reston. So convenient for all of NOVA.
