Didn't PVI best STM? Also DM looks to be fourth in the WCAC so yeah Meh for the stags that is what they are almost every season.

WCAC really needs to split into a lower and upper division like they do for football.

GZ or SJC beating O'Connell, Bishop McNamara, or Ireton or Carroll, by 15+ goals does nothing to promote the growth of the sport.

It is not fun for the coaches, the parents, and, most importantly, the players on either team.

WCAC leadership is incompetent!

Bullis has the most individual talent in the area but its apparent they don't play well together as team. Offensively, you'd think you are watching a summer club team, lots of HERO ball and plays simply watching Mahar drive to the hoop. Pressure is on Bullis to take home the IAC ship as this is a loaded senior class on Falls road.

Landon is athletic, they scrap, strong at the face-off X and do the little things well between the restraining lines. Their offense has been dismal thus far while their defense and goalie play keeps them in games. Bears need to figure out their offensive troubles if they want to make a run at another IAC ship. We will get a sense of how strong Landon is after this weekend when they square off against national power Haverford.

GP remains a mystery to me. They have some very talented individual players on both sides of the field but rely too much on one particular player. They had a good win over Gilman last week, but looked terrible yesterday vs Loyola Blakefield. The Hoyas couldn't clear the ball, were poor on GBs, and must have turned the ball over a dozen times. Hoyas are too athletic to be losing by this margin. Malvern Prep the #1 team in the country is on deck. Hoyas are playing a brutal non-league schedule.

GC has some strong individual offensive players but I'm not sold on the pre-season hype from the club coaches.

DM will be a tough out for anyone, they are big and athletic and in my eyes, the best offensive player in the WCAC at attack. Coach Messersmith is an excellent coach, he came to the Stags after being an assistant at MD Public School power, Broadneck. The culture is changing in Hyattsville which is a positive thing for DMV lacrosse.

GZ is a younger squad this year and are playing kids who really never saw big minutes last season. One thing is for certain, the Eagles are well coached, they scrap hard and have a strong FOGO. Purple Eagles, unlike in previous years, lack a true offensive playmaker who can drive to the rack. Eagles will need to rely on their stout defense and goalie play if they are going to defend their WCAC title. Hard to really assess who strong or "down" this team is as Coach King scheduled a brutal non-league schedule as always.

SJC is young as well. They are a complete team on both sides of the ball but similar to GZ, they lack a true offensive playermaker. The loaded 2026 class will continue to get meaningful game like experience as the season unfolds and look for the Cadets to be a much stronger squad come late April. Face-offs are a problem for the Cadets. Big one on the road today vs Gilman.

I haven't seen PVI or the Heights play so can't provide commentary.

Agree. Sound analysis. As a Landon supporter, I like where we are. I don't trust Bullis in big game cause Bellistri can't control the 25 class. Prep seems a bit off, although maybe by the end of the season they will pull it together. Again, I like where we are for the IAC.

PVI – They will struggle due to weak offensive play and a defense that relies too heavily on one player. Their only saving grace is solid goalie play. Additionally, they lack a FOGO, and their dodge/shot-heavy offense simply doesn’t work. Their close wins have exposed these flaws, and Archbishop Spalding put on a clinic, showing exactly what real lacrosse looks like in their blowout win.

Landon – Undersized on offense but benefits from strong FOGO play. Their depth and hustle will allow them to make another strong push, keeping fresh legs on the field. I agree with the previous points—they look to be in great shape and further along than G Prep and Bullis in the race to take the IAC.

G Prep – Their success hinges entirely on their Princeton commit, who risks being overworked trying to do it all. Defensively, they have talent but haven’t gelled yet, as all three key defenders play for different clubs. Their performance against Loyola Blakefield was poor—lack of ground balls, struggles in clearing, and inconsistent passing/catching. They were clearly unprepared.

Bullis – The "2025 Club Crew" runs the show, relying on club/hero ball, which works against average teams but falls short against elite competition. This pattern of underachievement continues. The team that secured four straight wins and battled hard against DeMatha in OT was not the same team that showed up against a young St. Paul’s squad. Players #99, #91, and #5 stood out for St. Paul’s. The difference? The EMO offense was humming as well. St. Paul’s played as a team. Bullis is still feeling the impact of the Princeton FOGO out due to injury, which continues to hurt them. The Penn commit is not the issue—when he gets the ball, he converts. Defensively, they are physical, and their three short sticks remain the best in the DMV.

Other Teams – I haven’t had the chance to watch GZ, Heights, DM, or SJC yet.

Let's see how Bullis responds this weekend after the loss to St. Paul's. Very intriguing match up for them. I am beginning to buy into the opinion that lax is our area this spring is just not very strong.

Episcopal Academy out of Philly is a competitive program but no where close to Haverford or Malverns level.

If Bullis can’t get it done today with the roster they have, it’s a coaching issue.

Bullis should win by 4 - 5 goals

Makes sense to set up something similar to what ISL does for AA and A on the girls side. Someone gets relegated and someone moves up. By the way, Carroll does not have a lacrosse team that plays in the WCAC
