The idea that MD based fans will keep attending Caps games at PY is absurd. Hockey is booming in the MD inner and outer burbs. The likelihood that we would attend a weekday game with our hockey playing children at PY is nil. |
MD residents benefit because they will be saving money by not attending Caps or Wizards games. |
| Our inability to hold onto two sports teams is going to be another road block in transitioning The District into the State of Washington, Douglass Commonwealth |

That dude was never going to settle for a renovation of an existing building with no undeveloped parcels adjacent.
Team owners are real estate developers these days, and now he gets to rake it in on a huge new complex and then sell in a few years. It’s the Brooklyn Nets model. |
Fine by me. Maybe it will bring the prices of tickets down. Getting into DC sucks and with crime increasing in the area, a change will be nice. |
You are a fool. |
Your clearly do not drive much around here. Former Old Town and current MoCo resident here. PY is in the middle of some of the worst traffic in NoVa. |
|
I lived in Old Town pre- Potomac Yards development, when residents fought having the Redskins stadium built there.
So this development is entertaining to watch. |
Just speaking the truth. |
Remember this in the future when a PY arena parking garage is littered with cars with MD tags. |
|
I'm a Caps fan living in MD and I'll go to Potomac Yard with my kids, one of whom plays hockey in MoCo. You need to dial down the drama a few dozen notches. |
| I guess some people need to learn the hard way. Are mayor and council getting the message now? |
