Ok I thought you were referring to a place in France called "yellowstone" I've never skied in either place and I quickly googled it and this is what I found: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g1315378-d1889600-Reviews-Yellowstone_Ski_Lodge-Sainte_Foy_Tarentaise_Savoie_Auvergne_Rhone_Alpes.html So of course I know that Yellowstone is a famous National park but, maybe you didn't know that there is another Yellowstone, Genius? |

Ok, let me help. YS is a ski club in Montana. It’s not in the actual YS. It’s in Big Sky and it’s private. You can’t ski in the actual YS.
I ski a lot, and I wanted to believe GP. Her story though is so bogus to any expert skier as to make it laughable. The reason people are so passionate about this is that if celebrities get away with rotten behavior on the slopes, that is then covered up by their paid assistants, the system breaks down. The system is based on self-enforcement of the rules and it’s an honor system. She’s lying if not about everything about a big chunk like her being in front (whomever is behind is in the wrong). That’s why her ski instructor whose job is to watch her “didn’t see” the incident. No instructor ever takes eyes off for so long that they can crash, get up, and no one being able to tell exactly what happened. If GP wins the honor code of the mountain breaks down and the more powerful and mightier and stronger just start acting with impunity. Most often they are not GP but some meathead from NJ or Russia who won’t hesitate to lie and throw fists and money around |
Are you talking about Christiansen's testimony? He was hired to ski with Moses. |
|
I am talking about lack of any eye witnesses. The family had 6 ski instructors, not 4. None of them nor the family were eye witnesses but can speak to confirm what Gwyneth had said. I think they are walking a fine line to satisfy her storyline but not perjure herself.
Meanwhile there is an eye witness but not one believes him because he’s a friend. It’s nuts. I wrote my piece before seeing the articles on the skier code at the heart of the case. It seems that’s really struck the nerve with many but it’s kind of lost in this thread. |
|
How come GP’s ski instructor whom I understood to be a woman (and who informed Terry & Ramon that that was GP) didn’t testify?
Also these guys’ group chat clearly describes the accident and they have the only eye witness. It’s not possible that her ski instructor didn’t see and no one else did either; I think people just don’t want to perjure themselves and so GP didn’t call them and Terry is not calling them for the risk they lie. Again, not possible to do short turns on the right side while skiing with your legs like a Zamboni, she’s full of it |
| So of 4-6 instructors, only 1 was willing to testify? |
I wrote the original post referring to Yellowstone, I’m not the one who made the insults. It’s the Yellowstone club near big sky as others have clarified- private ski resort and the more I think about it, I’m even more surprised she didn’t go there in the first place. Technically you have to own to ski there, but she’s gwyneth, I’m sure it would have been easy for her. And just a note on the ski instructors - many of the instructors are part time and do this as a side hustle and/or to get free passes for their family. They are only required to teach for 20 days a season. The more seasoned veterans would have gotten the cushy private lessons over the newbies, who have to teach group lessons to toddlers who are barely potty trained. Instructors get paid like $20-30 an hour, but they are intensely pressured to make their clients happy at deer valley. I mean, they just hired a guy from Disney with no ski experience to run the resort- that’s how seriously they take pleasing their guests. |
|
My take is that GP skied where she could cut it. Deer Valley is popular with families. It’s very busy. The problem with GP, particularly if she skis 18” apart, is that the family likely couldn’t ski a lot of premium resorts at the time (for example Aspen does not have a single green run; they come out now but not sure where they ski). Yellowstone only came out of bankruptcy around 2014 so there’s that; they tie into the Big Sky runs. A private club would be much less tolerant of the 6 instructor wide turn danger on the slopes scenario.
Skiing in Colorado, skiing with the so-called celebrities is totally normal. No one cares. Nor is it beneath a celebrity such as they are — climate change is a great equalizer and you go with the snow. If anything it would be very annoying to have some celebrity ski with 6 instructors. Only the tacky Ruskis in Montclers used to do that. But GP doesn’t sound like a good skier so that informed where they went. Something’s come out about another ski collision she had allegedly caused in the past. To be honest, from a pure ski expert perspective it sure sounds like she’s fibbing a lot. I was very agnostic about the case but the 18” thing really piqued my attention and then her whole story started to come apart. |
| You don’t have a clue about the instructor pay either. You’re mixing Chilean students teaching toddler ski school with the private mountain guide ski instructors. It’s true that tips are the important part of the compensation. Yet another reason why it’d be tragic if she won the case. Future accidents would be likely to not have been witnessed by your instructor either if caused by you. |
| The real question is why couldn’t Moses part the skiers on the mountain for her family. Also why did she make her kids testify? |
| Was Paltrow drunk? |
| I don't think Paltrow was drunk or skiing with her ski's 18" apart - someone came up behind her maybe trying to stop but couldn't - hence the noises she heard behind her. His skis then came onto and between hers causing her to widen her stance. She then loses her balance and falls - and he trips up and goes flying to land on his chest laying head down the slope causing a concussion and rib fractures. When your skis get tangled up, the more experienced and downhill skier who is not going very fast snd is in control can fall easier and the fast moving out of control one goes flying. I'm a skier and a physician. I can picture GP's story. I've skied at DV with my 3 kids. They each had their own instructor - but I did not ski with them. I'm not sure where everyone is seeing there were 6 instructors. There were just instructors for each kid - and the instructors were watching the kids. GP didn't have or need an instructor. She has stuck to her story. He seems to be unreliable, admitting that he "often misspeaks"! I hope no one is found at fault - accidents like this can happen and no one was terribly negligent. Waste of time and money - the whole case and counter suit. |

Skier and a physician, but never seen an aftermath of a brain injury?!
Sorry, ditto here, but his symptoms are consistent with the injury he sustained and her story is consistent with lying her gassed a## off. |
Nobody disputes an accident but he’s just not believable. He’s been caught in multiple lies. His memory is shot. |
