Yes. I want DA's to be tough on crime. What THIS DA is dong is not going after a crime. He is going after a political opponent. Even those who are not Trump supporters agree. Meanwhile, Bragg chooses to reduce felonies to misdemeanors in over 50% of the cases he prosecutes. https://www.foxnews.com/us/new-york-city-da-bragg-downgrades-over-half-felonies-misdemeanors |
Nah, he's going after a crime. Just because someone turns into a politician, doesn't mean they don't have to follow the law. |
The only drivel here are claims that Trump should not be investigated and tried for criminal behavior. This particular case may be limited to investigating hush money to a porn star but much broader patterns of criminal behavior exists. Why should Trump escape the law over and over again? It is inappropriate and disgraceful that powerful congressional Republicans are defending his latest veiled calls for violent protesters and bullying Mr. Bragg provide them with communications, documents and testimony. Prosecutors are barred from sharing information about an active investigation with third parties, and such information is confidential under NY state law. |
There is no doubt he illegally paid off this person. However the credibility of the main witness is in question, and it's because of this that Bragg elicited surprised and skepticism when he revived this case. Sometimes you know they've done the crime, but you can't prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. It's not political. It's an issue with witness credibility. That's why they brought in Pecker to testify. Apparently it's still not quite enough, which I find rather interesting. |
Well I still appreciate that NY public prosecutors are trying to hold this slippery unethical blow hard coward to some measure of accountability. He will spin it the way he always does. His cowardice and hypocrisy are beyond belief. |
How do you know it's not enough? Pecker just testified yesterday. The Grand Jury doesn't convene again until tomorrow (Wednesday March 29th). |
PP you replied to. Right, I suppose they did not have time to vote the same day. |
What was the crime? |
Tax fraud |
I suppose I should ask, which Monday? |
Tee hee. Hey, at least the Trump saga is providing unending fodder for late night comics. I didn't watch any of them prior to his election, and now they're part of my staple entertainment ![]() |
That isn't what is reported that he is pursuing. |
Yes it is |
If Trump claims the payments to Cohen were for legal services (which they weren't) and then claims a deduction on his taxes for those "legal services", that is tax fraud. |
Looks like they are not meeting at all until May!. Yikes. |
