Man are they playing Trump and the Republicans. This is where Israel shows who side maga, Fox News, NYTimes, WSJ, NYPost, Twitter and Tik Tok are really on. It’s nit the Republicans and the “American” people.

Wonder what gas will have to get to to make change?

And….the Strait is closed again.

Time is running out oil and gas storage tanks are reaching bottom. The world might have to put Israel under the same sanction regime Iran had. $12 a gallon for gas would cause huge problems for Israel.

If both Trump and Bibi lose their elections, this will be a silver lining to the resurgence of Iranian theocratic power.

I did not expect the world, and specifically the long-suffering Iranian people, to pay such a steep price for those two horrible persons' political losses, but now, given the context, I really hope those losses actually come to pass. And that this leads to their investigations on their criminal conduct, and prison time. Trump will not live to see that last, but at least his last days can be bedeviled by court dates and mandatory appearances.

This is where we are, and it's sobering.

Sad.

There is Peace for USA.

We had that before he started the war. So, he started a war, surrendered, and is now sending our money to the country that defeated us.

ART OF THE DEAL.

It is Iranian money that was kept here that we are going to send back.
Everyone who was against the start of the Iran war now should support the end of the war.

That's different. Iran gets $300B for reparations AND unfrozen assets (probably +interest). We were told Trump was a deal maker playing 4d chess. This is pure surrender.

Consequences of this war will be born by US population. What consequences is Trump facing? I say we cut into the $300B by seizing Trump assets.

Again - get a grip and educate yourself. The $300 billion is a reconstruction fund made up of private investors and companies from the Gulf countries and elsewhere around the world. The U.S. isn't paying Iran one cent. And Iran *only* has access to the fund if they comply with the rest of the agreement, to include no longer pursuing a nuclear weapon.

The frozen assets (no interest) belonged to Iran in the first place. I'd say this is a pretty good deal.

DP

Ok - keep telling yourself that.

Nobody trusts anything coming from Trump and his cronies so their assurances about the sourcing of the $300B is probably BS. Given the way Iran has been dogwalking Trump, not holding out too much hope that the final agreement will be any better. Iran still holds all the cards and Trump and his RE agent "negotiators" are out of their depth.

Still say that seizing Trump & family assets is a good way to pay down some of the costs of this excursion.

Ok, you're clearly not a serious person. This is a good deal, as long as Iran holds up their end of the bargain. That remains to be seen.

Given the contours of this agreement, why bother to have a war. Trump could have capitulated to Iran without spending hundreds of billions of military hardware and lives.

The US did not achieve a single one of the goals it stated were the reason for the war. All of our GCC allies no longer trust our security guarantee and will be looking elsewhere, likely china. The Iranians have come out of this with no more sanctions, release of $100B or so of frozen funds, $300B in investments, and permanent control of the SOH. There’s no way to spin this as anything but a disaster for the US.

I can spin it as " cut your losses" and move on.

Claiming you “cutting your losses” requires you to admit the loss.

As long as the Strait gets opened, I think he's just going to let this whole thing fade away in the news cycle. By summer, his plan will be for all of us to be talking about something else.

That’s not likely to happen. We all know Israel is going to keep fighting in Lebanon, and at some point Iran will say they’ve violated the agreement and close the strait again.

Nah, I don't think so. With all the sanctions removed and the release of frozen Iranian funds, Iran will continue to fund Lebanon to fight off the IDF. Iran will keep the Strait open unless and until the US puts sanctions back on them or attacks them, whichever happens first.

Told ya

“Iran dealt two quick blows to the interim agreement with the United States on Saturday, angered by Israel’s continued attacks in Lebanon, saying it had closed the Strait of Hormuz and announcing that while its negotiators were going to Switzerland for talks, not much is likely to happen there.”

Israel wants American boots on the ground long term in Iran. It’s as simple as that. Explosive pagers and precision missiles can only get you so far. Clever bs tactics can only get you so far. We are being steered into a long term land-based conflict in Iran at the behest of a tiny nation.

I know. Which one of these Israeli demands can be accomplished without ground troops?

Regime change with a puppet regime controlled by Israel.
Removal and stopping Iran’s nuclear enrichment program.
Denying the Iranians the ability to build and launch drones and missiles.
Stopping Iran from supporting its allies.
Opening the strait.

Strait is closed again, but somehow Trump (hiding at camp David for some reason - that’s a topic for another thread) posts on social media that Iran is not to charge tolls on those tankers passing through the strait? Either he is confused (surprise) or someone is feeding him warped info. Maybe he’s undergoing some kind of medical treatment and it’s affecting his comprehension.

Iran will say, Okay no tolls, we will charge "environmental impact fee".

I don’t think he’s been fed accurate info in a long time.

Is MAGA sick of this yet, especially sick of paying higher gas prices for their pickups, or still seeing 5D chess played by a “genius”?

He’s exactly where his handlers want him. The feeble, dying rich uncle the salivating relatives convince to rewrite the will.

Only Trump could screw up a surrender.

Maybe Iran will open the strait after November? Iran needs to lock down the strait and put some real pain on Trump and the Republicans. Get gas to $15 a gallon and see how much people care about tolls, control of the strait, nuclear materials and Israel’s never ending wars. At $6 a gallon Americans will kick Israel to the curb. At $15 I think they would bomb Israel.
