Where to take my friend to lunch after we go to Arlington Natl Cemetery?

Anonymous
I just moved to Arlington and a very good friend is coming out from Los Angeles to visit me. Her dad is buried at ANC and so we're going to go there (probably Friday morning). Is there anywhere nice (not too loud/crazy) you can recommend for lunch--maybe where parking is easier (not essential if in VA)? I guess it could be in DC, but I'll need parking or valet if we go to DC, I think.
TIA!

Me Jana in Arlington is good. Parking garage right near there, too.

Parking sucks but maybe go over to Georgetown...

From ANC it's easy to get on GW Parkway south. I'd do that and go into Old Town. Lots of nice lunches there.

Indigo Landing. Nice view. Peaceful and quiet.

I'd go to Jaleo in Crystal City. There is a parking garage or street parking on the same block. Shouldn't be too loud at lunchtime.

But terrible food.

I like PP's Jaleo suggestion.

Indigo Landing is also temporarily closed due to a water main break, so I wouldn't bet on that.

I find their food OK. Above average.

Me Jana is great.

Rice Paper in the Eden Center (Wilson Blvd in Falls Church) is nice, with really good Vietnamese food. Plentiful parking. Not sure if there's a wait at lunch.

I think parking at lunchtime isn't so bad. What type of food would you prefer? How casual?

Cafe Asia
Green Pig Bistro (brunch on weekends)
Busboys & Poets
Red Hot & Blue
Bayou Bakery
Lost Dog Cafe
Lebanese Taverna

OP here….Ok wow, 11:34, we must live nearby. I think I'm looking for something like Cafe Asia--a little elegant (but where to park…)

With the kids (not on Friday), I'll be taking her to Lost Dog or maybe the Lebanese T or the Thai place (all in Westover) they are our go-to places.

I don't quite want as casual as Bayou.

I didn't like Red Hot and Blue--I don't want dark and cozy, I want light and cozy.

Not heard of Green Pig or Busboys/Poets!

I know she likes dim sum, but the kids and I tried Pearl (Falls Church) one weekday when they got out of school early, and it was not good. So bad, in fact that I didn't' finish my har gow (shrimp dumplings) which--well, it had to taste pretty bad for me not to finish a dumpling! This is confusing to me because my friend said it was the best in the area, and DCUM folks also say it's great. Maybe because it was a weekday at lunch?

I've got my Zagat's book and looking up everyone's suggestions, and will keep checking back. TIA!

For dim sum, try China Garden (Rosslyn) or Fortune (Falls Church). There is a seafood one out a little further on Rt 50 if you are hard core. Can't remember the name...

I'll try to think of more Cafe Asia type restaurants.

Is Talulla open for lunch?

Off day at HK pearl? Stick to weekend dim sum.
