Where to take my friend to lunch after we go to Arlington Natl Cemetery?

more ideas:
Carlyle Grand
Boulevard Woodgrill
Cassatt's (maybe too casual?)
Eventide (Sunday brunch)
Willow
Jaleo
Evening Star (Del Ray)
Bilbo Baggins (Old Town)

I'll try to think of more Cafe Asia type restaurants.

Is Talulla open for lunch?

Oops - no dim sum at Vinh Kee (chinese seafood restaurant)

I would definitely go to Shirlington and walk around if it's nice - it's super easy to get to from Arlington National. I don't particularly like any of the (mostly chain) restaurants in Pentagon City or Crystal City. Cheesetique would be my choice - I love going there with girlfriends.

With the kids (not on Friday), I'll be taking her to Lost Dog or maybe the Lebanese T or the Thai place (all in Westover) they are our go-to places.

I don't quite want as casual as Bayou.

I didn't like Red Hot and Blue--I don't want dark and cozy, I want light and cozy.

Not heard of Green Pig or Busboys/Poets!

I know she likes dim sum, but the kids and I tried Pearl (Falls Church) one weekday when they got out of school early, and it was not good. So bad, in fact that I didn't' finish my har gow (shrimp dumplings) which--well, it had to taste pretty bad for me not to finish a dumpling! This is confusing to me because my friend said it was the best in the area, and DCUM folks also say it's great. Maybe because it was a weekday at lunch?

I've got my Zagat's book and looking up everyone's suggestions, and will keep checking back. TIA!

Off day at HK pearl? Stick to weekend dim sum.

+1. Go on a weekend lunch!

Village Bistro in Rosslyn - in the same plaza as Ray's Hell Burger. French bistro cuisine, NOT a chain restaurant, highly rated on Tripadvisor. The plaza has parking for patrons.
