Is anyone else absolutely shocked by this news? Sonya Swansbrough always seemed like a fabulous principal -- the kind you would want at every school.

SEEMED like. Apparently she wasn't what she pretended to be. Now she's just a common thief.
Bethany looks like she took her arrest hard. |
| Just so pathetic. What arrogance to think they could get away with it. Glad FCPS figured it out. |

Swansbrough, Sonya Y Principal, MS Poe Middle $ 127,731.00
Speed, Bethany M Administrative Assistant III Stuart High $ 68,383.00 Maybe they needed Me money for ME time. |
|
LMAO !!!
There are teachers from that school wanting to know if that's why they haven't had a raise. |
|
Bethany Speed left Poe this summer to go to Stuart -- maybe she'll blame the principal and cite "stress and pressure" for her reason for leaving.

| Maybe Bethany will throw the race card and feign ignorance. |
| Sonya Swansbrough was a School Principal with Zero experience... Good for NOTHING.... Hope BOTH GET THE MAXIMUM SENTENCE... |
|
She was falsifying time sheets to pay her son when he was actually in college. Last year he started his own clothing company--wonder where the start up funds came from. And the admin asst filed for personal bankruptcy last year.

A post above lists, by name, another person who has not been arrested or charged in this criminal case.
Reported to DCUM as a violation of terms of service. I do not have a kid at Poe (and never have, and don't live in that area or know any Poe students or families) and haven't heard of these people until this news broke, but to name another person and say she must "face charges too" seems libelous to me. Let the police do their job and name names when they file charges. It's the kind of crud that happens on DCUM as folks get to hide behind anonymity. If this poster had said or written this in a public forum with his or her name attached, lawyers would come calling. |
|
Good for the administrators --they removed the post almost immediately after it was reported so the name is now gone.
People, don't throw out names in posts about in a criminal investigation. |
| Radford university, haha not very bright |
I'm sorry. You find this funny? |
| I hate to say it, but something like this is rarely limited to two individuals, particularly not with this method of fraud/embezzlement. |
| If this was grant money, it may have had less oversight. Things like this probably start off with just a little--then grow and grow. |
