| I've decided that I'd like to take a crack at making braised short ribs. Where can I get beef short ribs for the best price, and does anyone have a really outstanding recipe to share? |
| Not sure about the best price, but the Pioneer Woman's short ribs recipe is delicious. Google and it'll come right up. Good luck! |

I didn't use turnips, but this recipe made the kitchen smell like heaven:
http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Slow-Braised-Short-Ribs-Lardons-and-Baby-Vegetables-108679 Look for Korean short rib recipes for a different flavor. Lastly, America's Test Kitchen did an episode on the different type of rib cuts, e.g., flanken etc. Gave good background. It's probably on Youtube if you're not registered for their site. |
| BJs often has short ribs, as do Giant and Harris Teeter. I buy them when I see them - they are the kind of thing that when you want them, you probably won't find them! |
| Not sure, but try costco. |
|
I buy them at Giant or Safeway and use Paula Deen's recipe. Yummy!

farmer's market
|
| Best price is at GrandMart. I have never seen them for a vaguely good price at a farmer's market. |
| Thanks everyone! |
| Korean grocery stores such as HMart and Korean Korner have the best short ribs: nice and meaty. The ones I have seen at Giant etc seem to have more bone than meat. |
|
Has anyone try this?

OP here. That looks very similar to the recipe I'm thinking of using. The reviews seem pretty good! |
There seems to be some negative reviews as well, I would modify according to those reviews. |
| If you go to a Korean grocery , just be careful to get the right cut. Here are two cuts of short ribs and Korean stores sell both. |
And what's the right cut? |
