Ex videotaped us having sex without my permission

A friend of mine contacted me and told me that he saw a video of me in a sexual act with another guy, online. He tried to save the video but couldn't so he took a snap shot of it on his phone and sent it to me. Sure enough, it's me. Before he sent the snap shot, he contacted the website regarding the video and immediately, they took it down. I know who the guy is, obviously. It's proof that it's me because it's clear and has certain markings. What do I do? The cameras were hidden, I had no idea and did not consent to being video tapped. I'm in pure shock. I have not contacted the guy because I don't know how to proceed. Do I contact him? Contact a lawyer? This is embarrassing and I feel violated. What would or could I possibly sue for?

I would contact a lawyer, you want to make sure he hasn't posted it elsewhere or sold it to anyone. I'm not sure that the laws about consent are in your state so speak witch someone ASAP!

OP here and thank you all. I just can't stop crying because I don't know how many he has and where he has posted them. I have not contacted him and I guess it's best not to? Or should I, hoping he confesses through a text?

Op don't contact the guy. Get a lawyer and let them do the contacting on your behalf.

You better hope the laws for nanny cams isn't applicable. In future you might consider having intimate relations at your place rxclusively. There is probably nothing you can do. You might also wa.t to be more selective in choosing your playmates.

This happened to a friend of mine, she took him to court and all he had to do was pay a measly fine. I'm sorry you're going through this, what a bastard.

I heard they are working on the laws relating to this to include $25,000 fine and possibly prison time. Don't know if it will be in time to help you OP.
