| When did your kids get their first tooth and how old were they when they lost their first tooth? The onset of puberty is supposed to be correlated with the age they first teethed, so a child who got teeth in early is supposed to hit puberty earlier. But, I don't what "early" means. My 5.5 year old has two slightly loose teeth and the dentist said she probably won't lose them until at least early next year. She was adopted at 10 months with 4 teeth so I'm unsure when she got her first teeth. |
| I have seven month old twins and one got teeth at 6 months. The other doesn't have any yet. |
|
Oldest didn't have any teeth until 15 months. We were assured that was ok. He recently turned 6 and hasn't lost any baby teeth yet.
Our other two got their first teeth around 7-8 months and are younger then he is. |

I once saw these as averages for when teeth usually come in:
Lower central incisors: 6-10 months Upper central incisors: 8-12 months Lower lateral incisors: 10-16 months Upper lateral incisors: 9-13 months So 4 teeth at 10 months wouldn't be particularly early or late, based on that. I, on the other hand, had no teeth at 10 months. That would be considered late. FWIW, 1st grade also seems to be the time in which kids are losing teeth in great quantities. So slightly loose teeth at 5.5 also sounds very normal. |

My kids:
Kid 1. First tooth at 7 months, had 4 teeth by 11 months. A little late on average in acquiring and losing teeth, according to the dentist, but still lost first tooth at 6 years, 1 month. Kid 2. First tooth at 9 months, had 4 teeth by 11 months. Lost first tooth at 6 years, 4 months. |
| My kids were slow to get teeth and very slow to lose them. 8 year old has only lost 3. |
| DD got her first tooth around 7 months. She lost her first tooth a few days before her 5th birthday (Feb. 2013). Since then she has lost 6 teeth (2 front teeth, 4 bottom teeth). She currently has 2 teeth loose. |
|
My dd has a loose tooth at 4.
Ds has lost 2 at 5. They both got their first teeth by 6 months. |
| Oldest DD was early to get teeth (before 4 months) and early to lose them (first at 4 yo). Dentist said the two are correlated. |

My oldest's 2 bottom teeth came in together at 6 months, and then no more teeth until after 1. She's almost 6 and just lost those 2 within 2 weeks of each other, no other lose teeth.
She's in Kindergarten and I'd say a fair number of kids have lost some teeth already - we carpool with 2 kids who turned 6 this summer, and they have lost 2 and 3 teeth respectively. Though I have no idea when they came in. |
| First erupted at 11 months, lost first at 7 yrs old. |
| All three of my children got their teeth very late. By 1 year, they only had 2 I think. My eldest is 6 with no signs of losing any yet. |
|
Older - 8 mos. 6 yrs, 11 mos. now 9 1/2, no puberty in sight
Younger - 5 mos. 6yrs 9 mos. |

Wait. Please provide research on the early teething-puberty connection. Have never heard that before. DD for first two teeth at 5 months and hasn't lost any at 4. Also, I got my period at 15 so this is interesting news.

I got my teeth late and lost them late; however, I have excellent teeth (got my first and only two cavities in my thirties).
Got my period one month after my 12th b-day, so probably early to average timeframe. |
