| This is interesting. My son got his first tooth at 15 weeks. |
| My son got his first two teeth at 5 months exactly. He just lost his first tooth at almost 7 yo. |
|
Older child: First tooth at 11 months; first lost tooth at almost 7. She's now 8 1/2 and has only lost five so far.
Younger child: First tooth at 13 months. Didn't get her last bottom baby tooth until she was almost 4. Is now five and has not lost any. I'm sure it'll be a while. Myself: Not sure when I got mine, but I know that I didn't lose my last baby tooth until I was around 16, so teething late runs in our family, apparently. |

OP, it is interesting you ask this b/c I too have an adopted child who is now almost 6 (she'll be 6 in one month) and I have wondered the same things with regard to tooth loss.
So far, she has lost 3 on the bottom, and has another loose one on the bottom. Nothing on the top yet. I do not know when she got her teeth b/c we adopted her at age 3 from China. |
PS She lost all 3 teeth within the last 5 months, so, from between ages 5.5-6, I'd say. |

There is definitely a correlation between teething early and losing teeth early. Baby teeth have a limited lifespan.
I've never heard of a teething-puberty correlation. |
| DS had his first tooth by 6 months and continued to teeth quickly after that. He had all of his (appropriate) baby teeth including 1-year molars by the time he was 1. He lost his first tooth the week he turned 5. He is 6 and a few months now and has lost 6 teeth. |
