When do you workout?

I'm a full time working mother of two young children. After drop offs, work, pick ups, dinner, homework, extra curriculars, I am having trouble finding time to work out. My weight has been slowly creeping up and I desperately need to get to a gym. Any others moms in the same boat? When do you work out?

Bought a treadmill. Workout at 5:30 am. It sucks but it's then or never.

I am also a full time working mother but don't deal with any drop offs, pick ups, homework or extra curriculars, so we don't have EXACTLY the same experience. But I work out before work on the days I am working at the office near home (rather than the one over an hour away) or AT home, and on my lunch hour when working at the far away office (then I eat a little snack a half hour before working out and my lunch after the workout). Plus I work out Saturdays and Sundays.

Wake up at 5 to use at home treadmill. It's painful but worth it.

Starting next week.

Most often after the kids go to bed. Sometimes at lunch. Sometimes the minute my husband walks in the door after work. Both weekend days.

None of it is ideal, but if you make it a priority you should be able to find time for two workouts during the week and then the weekend. I've tried mornings, but they don't work for me.

Same as you. I get up at 4 or 5 to workout. And I run one week night and Sunday mornings. There's time. You just have to find what works for you.

Sadly, 5 am.

Only can manage Sunday morning since having a second kid.

I go to a boot camp class M-F at 5:45. I run early in the morning one weekend day.

Both weekend days. Also try to do at least one active family activity per weekend (hike, long walk, etc.).

My husband and I are just starting a new schedule of switching off weekday mornings - I go to the gym W and F and he has T and Th. That only works because the gym is 1/2 block from our house.

wake up at o-dark-thirty and go running with the dog M-W-F. DH gets Tu-Th.

I go into work early (6am) so DH does all morning routines/fdrop off. I do pick up and go to the gym immediately after work/school pick up on my lifting days. Home early enough to do dinner, homework, play time, bedtime routine.

Certain nights I go in later to a zumba class either the kids come with me (we do hw, dinner, etc before going to the gym) or DH is home early enough to pick them up at the gym or keep them at home.

We work out our schedule every Sun for the next week (his schedule varies every week) and figure it out.

It works for us because the gym has a wonderful daycare and our kids like going there and it's only a few minutes from our house. Older one can do homework (they have a few computers) or play wii and the younger one can play.

I am fortunate to have a gym on the ground floor of my office building. I eat a light lunch that I bring from home at my desk, and squeeze in 20 minutes of strength training sometime during my workday, 2-3 times per week. I never go to the gym at lunch time, because that is when it's most congested.

3-5 days a week I go to the office gym at lunch for an efficient 30-45 min. workout, usually doing some high-intensity interval training and some weights. Every now and then I squeeze in a weekend workout at home.
