When do you workout?

5:45 for me... Wake up and go for a run. When DH is traveling, I hire a neighbor's son to come over. I never thought I'd be a morning runner, but if I don't do it 1st thing, it will never happen.

Wake up at 5:30, at the gym M/W/F from 6-7. T/TH I go at 5pm. This is because my gym has limited hours. I am hoping they will start opening early T/TH so I can do 5 mornings a week. I'm not a morning person, but it works for me.

OP here- thanks for all of the replies. I am soooo not a morning person, so I guess I've been in denial about needing to wake up earlier. Looks like I'll have to bite the bullet.

I do a short yoga class at lunch several times a week, bike for transportation, run on occasion, and once it twice a month leave the kids with my husband for an evening to take a more dedicated class.

OP no one likes exercising or getting up early for that matter. We do it cause we have to. Give it a couple weeks consistently and you'll be used to it. Also, you may notice your energy levels are better throughout the day.

Homebuilt gym. I work out on days I work from home, generally during lunch and then just eat at my desk.

Ran out of time to work out, but it doesn't take time to change eating habits which, in my opinion, is more important in taking weight off. No sugar or white flour (pasta, bread, rice, etc.)

Office gym at lunchtime, at least 4x during the week. Running outside during naptime at least once on the weekend.

Office gym at lunch. Hiking/biking/walking with family on weekends. Walking to metro.

for folks who work out in the AM, how do you manage to get the kids ready and out to door in a reasonable time? we get up at 5:30 and it takes us 2.5 hours to get out with two
kids. i am doing something wrong. can you share your schedule and how you divvy up tasks with your partner to get in a workout as well as get out the door at a decent time?

Full Time working mom here.

3 days a week I wake up at 5AM and am in the gym by 545, in the shower by 7AM.

On Saturday and Sunday I'm there both mornings.

If I'm really motivated, I do a quick run at work for 30min in my lunch on my two "off" days.

What do you do when your kids still get up at night...I'm just not sure I can handle getting up any earlier.

I'm at the gym 3 mornings a week, my husband does the full routine.

My DH is at the gym the other 2 mornings and I do the full routine. he then does one evening a week and I do all of the evening stuff that day.

We both go on the weekend and take the kids to the kids club.

Fitness is very important to our family so both of us really do all we can to accommodate each other.

2.5 hours sounds crazy! I wake my kids up at 650 and we are out the door by 730. On days I do the AM routine, I get myself ready from 6-650....so all in all the whole thing takes 1.5hrs and this includes walking the dog and feeding the pets.

That was my fat phase. when my second was a year and sleeping, I then started to focus on me. On nights they are sick and come in our room and need some TLC, the gym in the morning is B.R.U.T.A.L

I could not do this when they were infants!

Here was this morning for me: Wake up at 4:10ish. Out the door at 4:50 to workout. Return at 6:30 from my workout. I then put together the hubby's coffee, threw some eggplant parm together and put it in the oven along with quinoa in the rice cooker (for my lunch). Made my daughter and husband lunches (sandwiches, sides). At this point it was about 7:45. My 8 yr old wakes up and takes the dog out and feeds him. Hubby leaves for work as I jump in the shower and get dressed. I wake up my son and get him dressed (fight with him for 30 min over his costume he doesn't want to wear). Grab my food, get everyone in the car by 8:30, drop them off and roll to work.

If I didn't have such a close drive I would cook my food at night. Which I do anyway most of the time. Also having all clothes ready the night before helps. When I had a long commute I would even let the kids sleep in their clothes sometimes. Whatever saved time in the morning~
