men's watches.....do you notice them?

Anonymous
Ladies, help me out with an office argument. I know many women notice a man's shoes but do you notice if he's wearing an expensive watch? Not blingy, but if its a rolex, patek, etc?

I say no, women don't notice it unless its a huge and gaudy gold/platinum dinner-plate sized watch...my co-worker says they notice even a smaller understated rolex, patek, vacheron etc.

who is right?

I definitely don't notice based on brand or cost; I do notice if someone has something I think is especially elegant. I knew a guy who wore his grandfather's watch (on a new band) and the face was really understated and distinctive. But yeah, spending a ton of money on a watch is wasted on this woman.

Maybe, only because no one actually wears watches anymore.

Well I don't notice their shoes so not sure if my opinion should be counted. I'll notice the watch but likely won't pay any more attention to it unless it is unique or blingy. I guess I do notice when it appears to be a nice watch, but I don't look closely enough or care to look closely enough to figure out what brand it is (although some are obvious).

I work sometimes out of the manhattan office and because guys who live here don't have cars for the most part, even if they are pulling 250-350k, they spend ridiculous amounts on their watches and wear them all the time.

Sometimes, only because my husband went through a stage in his mid 30s were he loved/had to have expensive watches. It was big in his firm and it was ridiculous and I compared it to needing a letterman jacket in high school. This all translates into us having 3 very expensive watches that stay in our closet 99 percent of the time.

I notice them, but only because my husband is obsessed with expensive watches.

Is he a fag?

Some appreciate fine machinery and craftsmanship such as in a good watch, without the need for the homoerotic connection. ;-o

I do.

That word is offensive.

I don't notice men's wrist watches. I wouldn't know an expensive watch from a Walmart watch.

Those pocket ones are cool, though!

Absolutely yes.
