| Husband did the shopping and I didn't specify I wanted dry lentils. What can I do with the two cans he bought? |
| Throw them in a stew or a pie? |
Drain them and rinse them in water and let sit to dry out a bit. In one pan, saute an onion with garlic ( I usually use 3 cloves) until fragrant and onions have started to turn golden. Squeeze in juice of half a lemon (or more depending on your like for lemons) and add in lentils. Stir in plain greek yogurt and then mix that in with some rice or fettuccine. |
| Eat them? |
This sounds great. To be clear, I am seeking suggestions on how to prepare them. I do intend to eat them

It is really good. I've done it with both dry and canned lentils (I too learned to be specific if DH does grocery shopping). Not a HUGE difference in the two, just make sure you REALLY rinse the lentils before using them. |
| Lentil soup might work, too, since they are supposed to get mushy anyway. |
| Yeah I don't see why you need to do anything differenty with them. Make your normal recipe but rinse the lentils very well and add them close to the end of cooking. |
| I had no idea canned lentils existed! |
This. Purée after cooking to make it more chowder like. Yum. |

| Chorizo and Lentil Stew. Sautee and onion and some bell pepper and garlic, when soft add some chorizo to the pot and brown it. When this is done, add 2 cups of chicken or beef broth, a can of diced tomatoes, the canned lentils, a can of cannellini beans and bring to a boil. Yum! |
