Wood rotting around door jam and frame.

Anonymous
Any recommendations for someone who can replace a door frame on an exterior door? Thanks.

I would think any good carpenter? Is this what you are asking, or more specifically, do you need someone to figure out why the door jamb and frame are rotting? I'd think you'd need to fix this problem first before just replacing repeatedly.

What problem would that be? Unless you are replacing them every 10 years, it would not be considered a repeated problem. Things just get old due to weather, sun, etc.

Couple of years ago, we had our door surround replaced and painted by a painting company... I think it was called Homeworks Painting. A handyman could also take care of this.

Pp back to say that I wondered if this was a result of clogged gutters, non existent caulking, poor design, etc. BTDT with a 100 year old house that was rife with infrastructure problems. In my experience, replacing a door wasn't simple, for instance, as door measurements weren't standard.
