Independence 10, Battlefield 7
Yorkown 14, Oakton 6

MaxPreps has it

Indy (16.9) over Battlefield (11.5)
Yorktown (13.9) over Oakton (9.2)

Tomorrow:

Langley (10.8) over Maidson (10.4), or is that a push?
Robinson (12.7) over Woodson (7.8)
West Potomac (8.4) over Fairfax (7.2) but the number of WestPo parents with noisemakers is 25.3.
Those MaxPrep "predictions" aren't predictions. If the people who entered scores for earlier MaxPrep games did it by quarter, then it is reflecting the average number of goals they score per quarter. The more scores for each team that were just entered as finals (with no quarter breakdown), the further off the 'prediction' is (thus Langley appearing to be favored over Madison, Robinson only being 'favored' by 5 over Woodson, and West Potomac only being 'favored' by 1 over Fairfax).

Why would quarter by quarter scores alter the prediction?
it’s not a prediction. It’s meant to show their normal goal output per quarter. It’s a crap statistic that means nothing and is fed by bad data

I still don't understand your point. The prediction is based on the scores of the games played. I do not see what the goals per quarter aspect that you raised has on the prediction. How is the data (the scores of games) bad?
It’s not a prediction of what the score will be between the teams based on their strengths. It’s an attempt at a historical look of how many points they have scored per quarter…but since they don’t often get the per quarter scoring from previous games, half of it is “divide total score by 4 and apply that to each quarter”. That’s how you get a score prediction with Langley (ranked 10th by MaxPrep) “beating” Madison (ranked 3rd by MaxPrep). It’s not actually a score prediction based on the matchup. It’s simply an estimate of how many goals they’ve scored per quarter over the course of the season, generated with not enough data to be useful or accurate.

You're really fixated on this per quarter thing man, and I have news for you, that's not how the predictions work.
You’re right! The predictions don’t work at all.

Who does "best in the business include"? Clearly spoken by an Indy homer that has seen them play 17 games against most of their subpar opponents. Probably haven't seen some of the others they may see in the next two weeks.

I wonder if it’s the person who obnoxiously rings their cowbell every second of the game that can be heard quite clearly on the nfhs streams.

I'll caveat my comments by saying I do not have a player in the hunt and no skin in the game(you can believe me or not...really don't care).

It is funny to hear parents here comment on obnoxious parents. Reading the comments throughout the year on this thread, most teams in NoVA qualify for this award. Fairfax parents are constantly whining about everything and they are oozing with a constant feeling of entitlement. Loudoun isn't much better regarding the constant whining with the exception of one team's feeling of entitlement(not Indy btw).

Regarding the prior comment, probably more accurate to say best in class for VHSL. Indy did have a weak schedule overall but in the quality games they won, it comes down to a big, physical and aggressive defense that is hard to find any rhythm against. Their ride is no different. Very tough to break and aggressive. For any team to beat them, they will have to control faceoffs and production off of it. Defense has to be aggressive and has to play some sort of zone. They have 5 players that can score at any time. However, they are vulnerable against physicality. At this point, you can say what you want but it is Indy's ship to lose IMHO. Good luck to all the teams headed to States...hosted at Indy/Briar

That’s more lopsided than I expected. How many points for the kid chasing the public school record?

I think #3 had 8 or 9 Points. Oakton was trying to shut him off with a pole.

This shows how bad VA public lax is. #3 had zippy against a mid private school team and their attack kid was way better

He’s committed to Penn State and plays on one of the better travel teams in the country against all the top competition. Why do we do this?

He had 4 goals against The Heights. I don't see any other private schools on their schedule.

Same boat as you sir! No boy currently in VHSL, but had one and still follow the board. I could name names, but its not worth it.
You are 100% correct, most teams do. I don't mind the annoying parents for the cheering and noisemakers, etc BUT the whining (without knowing the rules) and more specifically the entitlement is out of control. Fairfax is the worst, several Richmond schools and I 100% know which Loudoun school you are talking about.
As for Indy, agree most of it. However, I think zone would be a mistake, as they do have outside shooters and will pick you apart. Will hold Indy down but as you fall behind they will most likely make you open up and then pour it on. I think they have about (6 O starters and at least 2 poles) 8+ players who can score on you, when you bring in the poles who seem to just want to come down and shoot.

I posted before, this would be the most complete team I have seen this year. Are they unbeatable, no, but my odds on favorite to win it and have been for several weeks now

I keep seeing here that Indy has a weak schedule, when I look at Lax Numbers (which everyone here seems to like) I see that they have the highest SOS? What's the deal?

DW is to 'Noke what Mark Millon is to UVa good luck with that.

Talk about annoying noise makers, Madison v Langley stream. All of them seem to have them.

What’s worse is the two moms that bray like donkeys.

People are so eager to try and tear this kid down. A modern day LeBron.

West Potomac beats Fairfax in a squeaker: 11-9. Fairfax #22 was almost unstoppable when he had the ball.

LeBron? That’s not the compliment you think it is!
