If you don't watch TV...

What do you do in the evenings to unwind? We are trying to get away from wasting hours in front of the TV, but I don't quite know how else to unwind and relax in the evening. Thanks.

Read a good book I can lose myself in.

Lately I read DCUM at night. But that's because I'm so burnt-out by the end of the day that I don't have the attention span to read a book anymore. I figure when the kids are older, when DH and I are less stressed about work (my deadlines and his furloughs), then I'll go back to reading a book in the evenings.

I'm not great at unwinding. After dinner is made and the baby is in bed, I go to the gym. Then I come home, take a shower, make lunches and go to bed.

DCUM/Facebook with a glass of wine.

Wow -- TV time is my time with my spouse. I would hate it if she buried herself in a book.

DW and I are trying to start exercising together at home after toddler goes to bed--stuff like crunches and hand weights as well as our elliptical machine. So far, it's a nice chance to chat and work out.

Go for a walk, talk with DH, do yoga, play chess, read a book, play online, talk with a friend, etc.

Take a walk. Read. Cook. Go out for a drink.

Read. If I am too burnt out to read something new I re-read old novels I love. But I've been a bookworm all my life, and if I don't have an hour to read everyday I go stark raving mad.
