Interpeting a guys body language....

This might sound really insecure or that I am over thinking things but I am interested in this guy at work. He has a nice personality but somewhat quiet so its hard to gauge his interest. He made a passing remark to a mutual friend that he thought i was beautiful. So, here is the deal, when we speak one on one he talks but swallows a lot. What does that mean? Nervousness? Guilt in being interested in me (he is newly divorced) From a guys perspective, what does that mean? I am way too shy to make the first move but if I know for sure he is interested I might let off stronger signals. Help!

No, OP just got out of the Tardis from 1950.

OP, there are many possible reasons for him swallowing a lot including but not limited to allergies, overactive saliva glands, PP's suggested something stuck in his throat, illness (like a cold). In other words, it may or may not have anything to do with you. So, don't read anything into it and let him know that you are interested. At work, strike up a conversation and say you're on your way to the break room for a cup of coffee and would he like to walk with you. He should understand and hopefully suggest something longer.
