They tried that by changing how a constitutional amendment is passed. They wanted a 60% majority instead of 50%. That supports polls that have consistently had reproductive rights at 58%. If polls had said 60% in favor, I’m sure they would have pushed for a 2/3’s majority. Voters saw through that.
I used to think republicans were just paying lip service to the whack jobs, but they have really pulled out all the stops to keep women in their place in Ohio. They’ve changed the verbiage on the ballot ( from the actual proposed law) to try and trick some people. They really really hate women and have some very concerning hang up regarding sex. At least that’s my take away from the posts I’ve read on NEXTDOOR.
That’s the news from Lake County Ohio!

Poland repudiated their women haters. I have hope.

It was because young people voted.

Good info. Also worth noting that pro-choice voters needed to vote No on the August special election ballot measure and then need to vote Yes on the one in November.

Correct. The republicans at state level are trying everything they can. I’m at a peaceful place with it now. I have true hope and optimism. I believe women’s rights to reproductive healthcare will be enshrined in November here is Ohio.

Thing is that they still control the state Supreme Court. So good luck actually enforcing this when the state inevitably violates it.

November mid term projections show Republicans likely to lose several seats - and a very real possibility of the House flipping Dem.

Good going, Republicans. Keep it up. Keep telling yourselves how popular your ideas are.

Who cares about a little thing called the commerce clause? Constitution? The GOP don’t need no stinking Constitution.

(Isn’t this old news? Did they re-ban it or move forward?)

I think Dark Brandon needs to shut off the highway funds to Texas until they decide to start following the Constitution. Texas boys will lose their crap once the potholes get so big they eat their Tahoes.

They are following the Constitution. Banning the use of highways in the commission of a crime is nothing new. If you don't like abortion being a crime, then you should blame Dark Brandon for being so focused on infrastructure that he never bothered to push for Roe v. Wade to be codified when he had the chance

It’s not a federal crime to travel to another state to engage in activity that is legal under federal law or the state where you’re going. Federal funding can and needs to be cut off. If Texas wants to play at independence let them pave their own roads.
