"Allow"? It is her body, not yours

Allow??

Allow. Heh.

No. This would necessitate her leaving the house and seeing a doctor, which I also do not allow.

OP, do you have objections? If so, what are they? My SIL wanted to help out another family and went through part of the process, but it never succeeded medically (I don't know the details), so she never got embryos planted.

DW here. My bestfriend since childhood was having trouble getting pregnant. I told DH I would consider being a surrogate for her. He said he didn't agree with it bc for fear of complications and fear of what our kids would think.

Would you allow your spouse to donate an organ for money?

The first kidney, sure. It's the second kidney where I start to question it.

I agree with him. I don't think you should do it. But the word choice allow bothers me.

Women on here post about allowing their husband to do things all the time...would you allow your husband to travel overseas when you are 33 weeks pregnant, would you allow your husband to x,y,z.

I think most intelligent people can figure out what OP meant and I appreciate that his wife wanted him to be in agreement with a decision to rent out her womb. To me that is a respectful partner. I hate the my body, I do what I want with it, he gets no say attitude. I would expect my husband to ask me if I was in agreement for a major decision that impacted our family, even if it involved his body.

I take issue OP with your use of the word "allow?"

She is your wife, however she is free to do whatever she wants with her body as long as she stays faithful to you as your wife.

Anyway, my sister did this for a gay couple and she made quite a lot of dough. She and her hubby got out of a lot of debt and it literally brought them back up.

Sure, being preggers with twins was tough for nine mos., but well worth the payout.

I don't agree with this. The decisions she makes with her body impact the whole family.
