I can’t stand the Biker poster for exactly this reason. It’s clear the poster thinks they are making some hilarious joke about people in the name threads, but I can’t figure out what it is. That some people suggest kind if ridiculous names? That’s true, but the names aren’t ridiculous to them (it’s very subjective). I never think “oh, good one.” My reaction is always “huh?” And because the post in Every. Single. Name. Thread. I get tired of it fast. |
There are also certain boosters of brands like Hanna Anderson that grate. |
Yes. People who mock people who don’t realize they’re being mocked aren’t really funny at all. |
Anyone who cites Popville as a source.
Though then I can easily write them off as a low-information person, and probably a racist too. |
There are plenty of forums for all those issues. That said, as long as childless people stay on their lane, I have no problem. It's the childless aunts who come into parent forums criticizing the parenting of their brothers and SILs that ruin it for everyone. There is a childless aunt on her crowdsourcing strategies for parenting stuff and I'm just like...the hell are you doing? Get a life. |
I mean, this is actually a really common opinion among UMC professional women. I doubt it's only "one or two" awful posters in the preschool forming saying this. Carters and Target are useful because they're cheap and kids stain or outgrow their clothes so quickly but I wouldn't call them high quality clothing brands. |
Another post for the grammar police. What do they think they are accomplishing? |
NP. And?! You think a child is to be held "responsible" for what brands the adults choose for them? At the very least, call the kid's parents "trashy," don't call the kid trashy. Or just dony be a shit person at all. |

No of course not. But when the topic of clothing brands come up, you shouldn't b e surprised that Carters/Target aren't considered nice brands that the typical UMC DCUM poster wants to buy. |
I point out stupidity in all forms. If you are railing against "fat mom's" who don't exercise, I'll take you down a peg. |
Target capris and long pants are literally the only pants that fit my 8yo DD's skinny waist/butt and long legs. Some of us buy clothing that fits and don't care about labels. |
But are you going to call the preschoolers who wear Carter’s or like Frozen “white trash?” |
+1 it takes an especially insecure, disgusting, type of woman to call a child trashy. I remember there was one public school teacher here (so not even rich) who mocked kids dressed in “cheap clothing” and asked why they couldn’t buy used Hanna like she did. I think Hanna is ugly anyway. |
