Running out of edibles, don’t know if I can sleep well without em.

We still do not have the distance-learning packets from FFX county, nor any real time distance leading elementary lessons - after 3 weeks.

But my kids recognized one of their teachers in front of their school when we rode by yesterday: he was passing out free lunch.

I pay taxes to the school to educate by kids, not to run a soup kitchen for the 5% farms. Teachers are supposed to teach.

I pay taxes to educate your kid and have teachers hand out lunches to FARMs children. I also pay to educate my children privately. They have no packets but intelligent ostentatious who can manage Grade 4 and 6 work.

Why can’t the admin people at schools do this to free up teachers?

I think teachers should be furloughed and receiving unemployment...unless they are actively engaged in remote instruction.

Life has changed very little, frankly. Saving money by not commuting.

My DH has been wfh for weeks now. I can’t stand his “work” voice. It’s like nails on a chalkboard.

I'm drinking a little more than i planned, and i'm only shaving my legs once a week, on Fridays. I'm not sure why I picked Friday.

I also pretty much stopped wearing underwear, and it's glorious. I'm going to have a hard time going back.

how with kids at home all.the.time?

Using this time to pay down a hefty credit card debt - over 5k.

I’m fortunate to be in an essential job and am pulling OT and working extra shifts. Saving too by not going shopping- my weakness is home decor and shoes and clothes and not online shopping.

Feel like I’m breaking some bad habits and learning to live without a lot of impulse buys.

I received chain mail from a guy I super “admire,” asking me to send uplifting wisdom—to get us through these trying times—to 20 people in my contacts or something, and I sent a note to the organizer declining to do so. I would do anything for love, but I won’t do that.

Who said anything about kids at home?

I LOVE IT!

While the reality of the pandemic is truly horrific and my heart is overwhelmed with grief for all of the families and individuals suffering, if I can forget all of that for a second, I love being home. Even working from home is preferable to working in my depressing office. I love being around my husband all day, I love that my kids have more freedom and a looser leash, I love being in my house (which is adorable) and working in the yard. I am baking bread and delicious meals. I'm getting more sleep and more exercise (I'm a runner, so this isn't that much of a change - and yes, I'm in suburbia and can easily distance from pedestrians and bikers)

I just wish we could live like this without the reality of this horrible disease lurking around every corner. There is going to be a wave of life-renovation after this, "unnecessary" will have a much broader definition.

It’s 3:15 pm and instead of working at my desk, I set my work Skype status to appear “in a meeting” and am lying in bed watching Better Call Saul. I have a terminally ill parent and the stress of caretaking during covid is pushing me over the edge.

Discovering the pulsating settings on the Shower Massage wand has been glorious (in an indulgent and sometimes mind-blowing way).

I’m here to affirm your decision, PP. rest and relax all you can. Work can wait. Been there.

This is the confessions thread. NP and I agree; FCPS is burdened by influx of FARMs students. Teachers should not be handing out the free meals - there’s a staff in place for this.
