Nice try. Tell Gus you did the best that you could... |
I'm positive these are not DP players. I don't want to name names because here, that would be inappropriate, but I count at least 7 players that are definitely DA across multiple age groups. These are no way, shape or form DP players. |
Who is Gus? |
I'm the one who posted the apology note that she responded to. I think she was agreeing with the first part of my note, where i said she should speak with Tom and leave if she were that upset. I said that I'd prefer the EDP path because they do a really great job in training with my daughter and i wouldn't want to give that up. That said, with her previous comments, i really expected her to be the parent of an EDP player. I'm at a loss to understand why someone would want to trash their own club over the competitive arrangement that was presented to the players in that group. |
I know. This board is filled with FCV trolls trying to push their propaganda. Anything they can do to smear the competition... |
Because they are not part of the club... |
Because treating the EDP group like this and playing up 04 DA players over top of 03 EDP players insults the integrity of the EDP process and sends a clear message of what it means to be EDP: you are out. You are done. Spirit will never pick you back up. Then cut those poor girls, and to be honest, they should have really done that in the spring when they could have gone somewhere else. Yes, it would have hurt in the beginning, but that would be better than this slow bleed of a 1000 knives for them. And there is a solid EDP option out there that does it better than this: it's called the ECNL. When EDP first came out, I thought it would be run with some integrity. When the teams were announced this year, I thought it would be an upgrade from last year's experience. Instead, it's the same madness. There is no upgrade, no improvement. Just the same exact problems - even when there is no longer a need. The 04 group is still way too large, the older teams will still be expected to balance their playing time by taking on extras they don't need and will just drag them down, so this must not be a year 1 player pool problem. This is how Spirit does business. The other teams haven't been infected because the youngers didn't cull the numbers for it and the U19s lost several players to FCV and BRYC (I guess their parents were smart enough to see it was time to get out). Yes, I will make sure people know, because I wish someone had warned me. |
Yes, and then in responding to your apology note - they agreed that if they were EDP they would hang in there for a year and advise others to do the same! Does that response make any sense to you? They are on DA and upset about losing playing time but would be cool with EDP? Why not just ask to get moved to EDP if it's just about playing time? Silly. This is a made up story to throw Spirit under the bus. |
Ah - ECNL Dad! Welcome back! |
LMAO! That is the most pathetic defense out there! No, nothing is wrong, it's just a smear campaign and propaganda! hahaha!
What's hurting Spirit's reputation is Spirit. If it did a better job, there wouldn't be angry parents. but since they are an NWSL DA academy team, they can do whatever they want and US Soccer will never take away their DA status. Spirit VA that is. Spirit MD may be different. In fact, it is different in that it has no EDP and smaller rosters. If they play up girls, those girls are on the roster and part of the team, not benching a team member. So that's already different. |
Hahaha! You are really a hoot! He's FCV troll, no wait, ECNL troll, no wait, what else, EDP parent!
What else you got? The Spirit parents who aren't part of the apologist group know everything I say rings true. And the apologists can't dare admit it, but they know I'm a Spirit parent. this is just a deflection as they try to salvage the reputation of this second rate club. |
Hahaha! The facts don't support your story. Interest is increasing in VA Spirit, they have a good reputation. What happened to their being no interest in the club? Now it's they can't fit everyone on the field. Sorry but the USSDA is doing fine and Spirit is growing and getting better. |
Yawn. You failed. |
Correction: interest WAS increasing. Let's see how next year turns out after all this madness. Again, nice try. Even me, I thought Spirit was on the up and up too. I was just as fooled as anyone else. Which is exactly why I'm warning people. DA is great. Just don't do it with Spirit VA unless you literally have no other option. And I mean NO other option. I wish I had taken the other offer we received. Now we are stuck for the year. |
Thank you for the warning FCV Dad |
