Made up? Not so much.......The people were employed in IT at generous salaries. The wife moved to Pakistan with family. Charges against the family and the one still here has an ankle bracelet. What is made up about this?

DP - its unclear the Awan's had any clearance and with their background, highly doubt they would ever get one.

it's not just awan, it's his wife and brother (?) who apparently worked at mcdonald's? why didn't these people, when they had this incredible opportunity, learn some IT and earned their salaries?

DWS apparently didn't care if they had any skills. It didn't matter. I think they were in a position to blackmail her.

i am not the person who said it should be a front page story. but i don't think anything reported by daily caller was made up - it's just that story is still developing.

it's possible there is nothing criminal here except for bank fraud (now, bank fraud is not front page news but i certainly wouldn't want to commit one). we don't know yet.

but to me that's secondary. to be frank, i follow this story because these people who seem shady if not outright criminal, have these highly coveted and prestigious jobs, much better than a job i have. i find that puzzling and i would like to know explanation - how they got them, how they kept them and why so many people jumped to their defense.

Bank fraud may not be front page news. But, the circumstances around this case should be. Why did DWS keep him on the payroll when he was denied access to the network? After all, he was her IT guy. Why were these people employed in what were surely somewhat sensitive jobs, when they were going bankrupt? These people may not be crooks, but it sure appears that way.

Step-mother's charges against them are pretty awful. Yet, they were employed on the Hill.

A computer was mysteriously "found" which may be evidence in a case against Awan. DWS gave a thinly veiled threat to the Chief of Capitol Police about the laptop. She claimed it was hers--even though it was part of the investigation, and, I would think, belongs to the taxpayers.

And the bank fraud doesn't seem that nefarious...they lied and said a rental property was their primary residence for purposes of taking out a HELOC. Illegal sure and they should get prosecuted for it, but why all the conspiracy theories?

This is a story to follow, but I don't think it means there was so collusion with Russia. We know Russia hacked the DNC- the IC is clear on that. And the Trump campaign/administration has repeatedly lied about contacts with Russia. Those two facts are indisputable. Not sure why the crazies are trying to make hay with this Awan story...it doesn't seem to line up.
