Because they're blinded by irrational hate. That, and not terribly smart. |
This was a huge Obama fail. He didn’t make this case a priority. His administration told the family to “lay low” so as not to anger the N Koreans. In other words, pander to them. They didn’t even want them to hang ribbons in the neighborhood. After months of “laying low” and getting absolutely no response or no results from the Obama administration, they started going public. Trump made this a priority. And, had he not, this kid would still be rotting in a prison/hospital in N Korea and his family, nor anyone from our country, would know he was in a coma. |
There is this weird Trumpkin thing going on about how the problem with North Korea isn't complicated like all the educated elite say. We just need to nuke them. It's simple. Problem solved. Obama just didn't have the balls to. Now, you could try to explain that at a minimum North Korea nukes South Korea and Japan (they don't care), and that billions of people, including millions of Americans, die in Asia before it's over. And that it is certainly possible that China gets rattled and wades in, and not on team USA, and nukes DC, and killing them on their sofa in Springfield,VA. Because they don't believe in complicated things. They like things simple on the Trump Train. |
I very seriously doubt most people defending anyone being in North Korea know what the DMZ is. |

"Trump made this a priority. And, had he not, this kid would still be rotting in a prison/hospital in N Korea and his family, nor anyone from our country, would know he was in a coma. "
I don't think so. The North Koreans wanted him off of their soil. Had he died there, it would be much more of a loss for them. There were no favors done here. This was for NK's benefit, plain and simple. |
| I wonder if perhaps the North Koreans didn't want him to die on their soil and that's why they sent him back? Or maybe his medical care was getting expensive and after a year with no progress they decided to give up and let him go. I kind of doubt it has anything to do with US politics. |
They are not blaming him for the student being in N Korea. They are blaming him for not doing more to get this student home. And, they are blaming him because he really did not do anything to bring this kid home. He failed. |
You hate the fact that Obama didn’t do anything, but Trump did. It’s ok to admit it. |
I give props to Trump. But let's not pretend that there aren't any other complicating reasons Otto was released. |
Let’s see how quickly they release the other Americans they are holding. I suspect it will be sooner than some might think. |
| From what I've read there are 3 other Americans being detained. Do you think the North Koreans will want something in exchange or will they gladly give them up? |
| The U.S. should forbid any one from the visiting North Korea since travel warnings are not enough. Who in their right would want to visit that shithole? So many places to go in the world and HE choose North Korea. Weird. |
I think N Korea wants something, but they won’t get it. I predict at least 2 of these Americans will be on US soil soon - when, I don’t know. And, I think it will be due to the tough negotiating tactics of this administration. We’ll see. |
You're a special kind of stupid. |
Because you raised your son to be mature at 18 and others infantilize their children because it is too much trouble to develop them correctly |
