Wasn't there one in College Park for a while after? |
Yes, but it was Bish Thompson's! |
| We go to the Melting Pot occasionally, and, never fail, I always call it the Magic Pan by mistake! Loved it in Montgomery Mall. |

G.D. Graffiti (Bethesda / Rockville)
Hamburger Hamlet (Bethesda) Wasn't there a place called The Magic Pan, too? |
There is still one on Greenbelt Road near Kenilworth. |
Don't forget the Cellar! Which is now something called Milkboy Art House or some damn thing. |
Milkboy Arr House? The Vous was a dump - just drunk guys walking around pawing at you. I can't tell you how many drunk guys I'd never even talked to stuck their hands up my skirt or down my blouse. A friends good friend was rendered a vegetable after falling on his head after being tossed out and punched. |
Yes, Bish, sorry. My autocorrect keeps changing it. My MIL got into a fight with Bish himself over dessert choices for our rehearsal dinner and she made us switch to a crappy Italian place instead. Big bummer, but he was a crusty guy who wasn't taking any crap. When I first met him I was standing there waiting for my fiancé and he remarked 'are you sure he's coming because maybe he's run off'. When he closed the place he didn't tell anyone, including long time employees, until something like a day or two before. |
Yes!! And their happy hours were hopping!! So long ago... |

Yes, as I said - in Montgomery Mall. |

The Russian Tea Room and Mama Leoni's both in NYC. Both places my parents took me for my birthdays growing up, before / after seeing shows on Broadway.
