Orientate. It's not a word.

Pop, as in, "that hot pink shirt really pops!"

Agree with panties. I don't think I've ever used that word.

I hate it when people (mostly celebrity chefs on TV) describe food as 'gorgeous'. It may look good or delicious but a steak/turkey/plate of pasta does not look 'gorgeous'.

It also annoys me when they take a bite of the food they just cooked and then pat themselves on the back about how great it is. Makes me cringe.

I clearly watch too much Food Network.

It is a word, although not in the US. It was in the NYT crossword this week which set off a discussion on the Rex Parker page:

When I first came to the US as an exchange student, I would cringe when people told me "you should see (do) this or that", I was like- well really? You don't get to tell me what I should do now I don't hear it that much...
Also, I must confess I often mix up good to see you and nice to meet you when I have to react quickly, as in my mother tongue the two expressions are not nearly as much alike...

I have a question. What is the proper way to sign emails? Best wishes?
Thanks.

THere is really no "proper" way. Do you mean for business? I usually sign "Regards/Warm Regards/Kindest Regards" depending on the content of the email. Sometimes (not often) "Sincerely".

add these to the annoying list...

Also annoying -- "Cheers,"

"sick" as in "that's sick", as in great. Whoever came up with that should be beaten senseless.

I know, right?

One of the gymnasts (I forgot his name) on the Olympic team greeted his teammates after their routines with "Man, that was sick!". He said it to everybody.

Made me sick.
