Trump admin ADMITS wrongful deportation

Our government or his government? Asking the US to prove his whereabouts is like asking them to prove the whereabouts of some random French guy in France. They have no authority to do so. Again, this guy is NOT a US citizen. He’s in his home country and subject to their laws. Maybe they’ve already released him, maybe they’re keeping him in jail because he has a record, it’s none of our business.

If the US is paying them to incarcerate him, it is our business.

This makes me sick to my stomach. How is every single American not appalled?

The matter-of-fact way in which those who speak for this administration just fabricate lies is astonishing …

WTH is this? They can't or won't fix their error? Is this the state of the US justice system? https://wtop.com/maryland/2025/04/trump-administration-concedes-maryland-father-from-el-salvador-was-mistakenly-deported-and-sent-to-mega-prison/

What effect does this have on you?

Seriously: why do you care? This has no effect whatsoever on you or anyone you know.

DP. It has an effect on me that I live in a country and raise my child in a country where literally anyone can be grabbed off the street and sent to an El Salvadoran prison and then government can stand in front of a judge and say “oopsie!”. A better question is how *don’t* you care.

In other words:

- this case has no effect on you whatsoever.

You are a very sick person. The new lows that Trump supporters reach every day shouldn’t be surprising, but they are. I think that it’s because we don’t always know who these sociopaths are out in civil society. This person could be a teacher or your neighbor.

It’s a better lesson in not coming here illegally.

We are governed by the same administration that made this mistake and will be for almost 4 more years — assuming they leave office when Trump’s term is up. Their incompetence and casual cruelty are not isolated to this one incident. This is how they roll, in general. We’re going to suffer different fates, but we’re all going to suffer.

Why did you Democrats create this open border sh*t show?

It turns out, governing is hard. MAGA is experiencing this but blaming Biden for it rather than turning their brains on and realizing that this is a large country with big issues and lots of laws to deal with lots of situations.

Ignoring all of it and saying "Deport 100 people, don't bother me with details about who they are or whether they are removable!" leads to disasters. As we see now.

DP. Problem is, it is a disaster but really only affecting a few people who are the deportee and their family members.
A few of these mistakes, maybe even a few hundred of these mistakes, are but a grain of sand in the Sahara, in comparison to the number of people who have been stopped from coming in at the border and/or lawfully deported.
Unfortunate but I do think the majority are ok with this as the cost of getting things done.

As it turns out, the majority does not. There is some tolerance for mistakes, collateral damage, sloppiness, breaking eggs, etc. The administration has already far exceeded that tolerance, by any and every metric.

This is not the cost of getting things done if you expect competence. Do you? The mistake we have seen in the last three months are ASTONISHING. The lack of accountability is SHOCKING. Why do you accept such incompetence from our elected officials????

This is literally the case; I do not care about it, nor should anyone else. I don't think it was a mistake; it might have been an "error," but come on, this is an MS-13 member. Not a kindergartner who ended up in prison in El Salvador. He is where he belongs.

He was afraid of his own government and of his gang. Why are we allowing protected status to horrible gang members who leave dead bodies of innocents to show their power?
Many Salvadorans are pleased with their president and how he is making going to the grocery store less stressful, rather than Squid Games.
I call this a good error for us.

Okay, but you are in the minority. Those in your echo chamber may agree with you but outside of that, Americans do not.

Not from where I sit.
The fact that you are using as an example a guy who did not have legal status here, and who very likely was involved with a gang, proves that these errors are not common, because if they were, you’d be able to find more egregious cases. You might be able to find a couple. But that is small in comparison to getting the border under control.

I don't have an echo chamber. These are my own thoughts.
